((Ignore this thread until things get moving ya'll))
Jess was wearing a Lord and Taylor Lace open back dress and felt very exposed.
It wasn't the most practical of dresses and would definitely be considered cheap compared to what other people might be wearing that night, but she liked it and it the diamonds she borrowed were worth more than the house she was raised in.
She stood off to the side as men and women from her team put the finishing touches on some of the lighting that would surround the staff. She refused to unveil it until exactly thirty minutes before the opening and nobody questioned her.
She'd hoped it was just the serious look she had plastered on her face, but she knew it wasn't. This was now a big hollywood thing, they most likely figured Jess believed herself above them what with her name in the papers and her famous boyfriend.
This would be her legacy or the start of it and they knew it.
It was barely two in the afternoon and her mouth all ready felt like hamburger meat. She picked at a scab on her arm and swallowed hard.
"Ms. Cartwright?"
She looked up with a start "Yes?" It was one of the many assistants that she'd been assigned and never learned the name of.
"Could I get you something to drink or eat, you seem a little... pale."
"Wine, a cask of it."
The assistant smiled, he was fairly good looking with dark hair and blue eyes and a light beard that could barely be called stubble. "I'm not sure I have access to that miss."
She sighed "Of course not, look uh-"
"Aaron miss."
"Ah ah ron, got it. Aaron I haven't eaten since yesterday and if I may be so blunt I never wanted to do this in the first place. I was just as happy sitting behind a desk before this whole Arthurian thing fell on my lap. So you'll forgive me if I'm just a little, blah."
"Got it" he smiled "I'll grab a scone and a coffee then?"
"Sounds great."
He bowed a little and headed off to wherever is was he was going to find a scone and a coffee.
She put her face in her hands and plopped down on a chair that had been brought in for her earlier. This was too much, she was never good at being the boss or leading anyone. Every management position she'd ever had she'd ruined in some way. But they still trusted her with this even though she didn't want it.
