Jess leaned against the headboard of her bed and dialed in the main number to Wayne manor. She was sure Alfred would pick up, she'd seen a couple tabloids chronicling Bruce Wayne's seclusion with the abduction of Lois Lane.
They were more trustworth than the papers these days.

There was a pause on the other line, but only for a moment "Miss Jess?"

"I imagine you've heard that Miss Lane is missing?"

"I figured you would have, you seem to hear about it all. But yes, since she went missing Master Wayne has been terribly distraught, when he isn't in the suit, he's hiding in his study or in the batcave on his computers. He doesn't speak anymore, it's mostly grunts. And the food I make goes mostly untouched."

"He used to tell me" he replied, sounding older than he ever had "from what I can tell he's searching for some fiend who goes by the name of the Joker."
