Aideen lifted the sack she was holding on her front and cooed in to it, there was a soft giggle and she smiled.
She'd been at the circus for a couple weeks and they were thrilled to have someone of her skill. Of course what they didn't know, was all the pyrotechnics weren't made from matches.
"Remember lad, a magician never reveals their tricks."
After her last encounter with Adrien, she realized that being a small time farmer wasn't going to work out for two people. Especially a child, she tried to get employed anywhere that was hiring, but no one wanted to hire a pregnant woman.
It was ridiculous, eventually she decided to put her skills to use when she talked to one of the many acrobats at the circus who said that he was taking care of his wife and two kids on the circus pay.
So it was settled.
((CONGRATS ITS A BOY!))

Unbeknownst to her, Adrien was one of the few customers who sporadically returned for each performance in the grand tent. Ever since his rough separation with the one love of his life, Adrien had arrived at this world of wonders, waiting in vain for someone to come and fill the gaping chasm where his heart had once been.
It wasn't as if he wanted it; it was more on the lines that he needed it.

Aideen nodded a hello to a couple guests who pointed with smiles and whispered "That's the one that can catch herself on fire!"
She chuckled to herself and placed a warm hand on her sons head as he looked up at her with a tired smile. She had made a name for herself, even if it was as a side show performer. She was healthy and so was her son and for the first time in her life she was able to afford real health insurance.

Adrien ambled into the small crowd of onlookers, hands in his pockets. "What's the commotion about?" he coldly inquired of a nearby personage.
"It's her. I like to call her the goddess of fire," the man answered.
Adrien shifted his focus towards the pinpoint of attention and the tiny figure beside it. His narrowed eyes were drawn instantly towards the bright flame of the woman's hair.
"No, it couldn't be..."

Aideen chuckled lightly at the comments and lifted her hand flicking it causing her hand to catch on fire, then threw it toward a outed lamp light.
The people clapped happily and a few mumbled "How does she do that?" She bowed and began making her way to her trailer, still quite unaware of Adrien's presence.

"Shit," Adrien hissed. He took a step forward but instantly retreated.
He was too much a coward, too much--he didn't know. He simply could not come to terms with what might ensue should he be seen by Aideen.

Aideen stopped outside of her trailer and furrowed her brow, someone was watching her, someone... familiar. She turned around and began searching over the fences and through the crowd for a face, for anything that would explain the terrible feeling she felt in her gut.

Adrien uncoolly stumbled backwards in his move to make a hasty retreat.

Her eyes narrowed in on a man who had fallen over, she sighed and started toward the man, he was still far enough away that she hadn't seen his face. But the closer she got, the slower her steps began and the wider her eyes became, when eventually, 15 feet from him, she had come to a stop.

Damn it, she's seen me, Adrien thought.
The man remained firmly seated upon the ground, feeling that there would be no use in running away now.

"Stand up" she demanded, her voice cold, emotionless.

"Why don't you sit down?" Adrien instantly retorted, his face a mask of malice.

Aideen didn't respond and walked closer to him extending a hand "Stand up."

Adrien begrudgingly complied to the girl's orders. Despite the plunging rift that had developed between them, he theorized that there seemed to exist a thin, single strand that bridged this gap in his empty heart. It might explain his more irrational decisions and actions. Or perhaps, it was all in his imagination, and Adrien only felt he was obliged to obey her.
He leapt to his feet, ignoring Aideen's hand. "You're employed here," he said.

"It pays more than farming" she said flatly "I have two to take care of now, can't live all by myself out in the woods anymore."
