I don't think we have a thread like this. So, who are you? What do we need to know? New and old members alike, introduce yourselves, let us know who you are, what sort of stuff you like, where you came from, and anything else that might make hanging out with us more fun! [Note: Since several of you are new, please be sure to read through the Rules and other mod posts to get a good idea of me being cranky how we work, as well as board features and character lists (available at the top under "RPG Links").] I'll go first. My name is Kris, and I play Erik. I'm also a co-mod, under our esteemed leader, Mandy aka Bonnie-Marie. I'm around a lot when I'm not gallivanting, which means you should address the businessy stuff to me. I am (I think) the second oldest player here, and I live in Seattle with a husband, a dog, and a cat. I'm a bit of a film fan/snob and a lit major. I work at a library and am going to school to get a library degree. I've been a Phantom fan since I was about 13 (that means over half my life!), but it waned and now is mostly a passion for the various forms Phantom takes, however bad. I will, indeed, champion Dario Argento's version and love on Phantom of the Paradise. But I was once (shh!) a phanbrat. I like this place because it lets me play with my favorite canon, but doesn't leave anyone out. I'm pretty open to plots, and if you see anyone I'm writing with whom you'd like to play, please let me know. I tend to prefer reacting to your characters rather than elaborate planning, because with most of the good ones I don't know what they'll do until they're faced with a situation. But I'm flexible, depending on the character, and an over-arcing "we want them roughly here" idea is quite welcome. Links: Who I PlayMy Latest "I Need Plot" Entry; another, moreMy Encyclopedia Marysuenica EntryMy [Phantom] FicNow you. It doesn't have to look like this; just tell us who you are to whatever degree you're comfortable, and it'd be nice to give us an easy way to find out who you play. I'd prefer not to clutter up the thread with too much chatter; if you're interested in someone or their characters, pm them or start up a chat in another thread. Thanks!

Excellent idea, Kris! A perfect way to get to know our fellow RP'ers. My name is Linda, and I play Malefica, and a lot of other characters. I am the oldest player on the board, and will have to do Peter Pan's words to mine: "I won't grow up." I live in Norway, with a boyfriend and our 13 year old son. I work at the town hall in my hometown, and is wearing a lot of hats in my job. When I have time off, I like to rp, read, watch movies, play piano, exercise ((self defense)) and sing. I am open to plots, though my way of playing is let my characters react spontaneously. I love to see my characters go through psychologic changes as the plot moves on, and it is interesting to see how my characters react to different players. Some may say it is too repetitious, I say it is interesting. Because no player will react in the exact same way. But I am fairly flexible, and open to any ideas that can make a plot better. This is my list of characters. If you want plot with any of them, please give me a shout. sueniverse.proboards106.com/index.cgi?board=oocgeneral&action=display&thread=1820&page=36#223811

I like this. Hi, I'm Jess, and most of my sues are alcoholics. Okay I've got thirty or so of them, so not MOST, but some... (I know someone here addressed that, was it you Kris *eyeballs*) It's a thing. When I'm on (Which is most of the time) I'm usually logged in as my self insert (Aka Jess) or Professor Snape. Yes, I know Professor Snape, once again, it's a thing. Check the Confessions thread for that explanation. I love to watch my characters writhe, really, I love to torture them, although I have yet to go to a Mira-esque level with them, I've come close. I just like to see how they react, how my mind can create a whole new level for a character than I didn't think I could before. Although no one comes close to Irene. I'm a fan of knowing the ending, but making it up as I go. You know like reading the last line of the book and then trying to figure out why it was written. (I also probably use smilies too much )) I don't drive, which is a problem, and not all at the same time. This October will be my third year working at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo for their fright fest as a costumed character. Aka a Zombie (at least that's what I was for these past two years, I'm fat they can't really give me a role unless they want me to play Otis...) I recently was "fired' from my American Greetings Job and now work in Napa CA, for Napa Phone Center. I'm learning a lot, even if my boss is crazy. I go to school at a community college, which is cool, to get my general ed's done and then I plan on getting a bachelors in history and probably a masters in museum studies if I can afford it. If not I'll be teaching at a high school for the rest of my life. Meh. I'm a terrible geek for the video game "The Sims" and am currently working on making sims for most if not all of my and other verse related characters. So far I've got two you can see them here. I'm a movie nerd to the extreme and would prefer to sit on my ass and watch horror movies until my eyes bleed than do anything else in the world... of course while eating Whopcorn. Mmmm Whopcorn. I have a fixation with Alan Cumming, Sealab 2021, Cowboy Bebop, Halloween, Makeup and Diet Coke Freakazoid, Alan Rickman, Billy Nighy and Michael Caine. I was introduced to the this board and to Phantom by Megan, although my first muscial addiction was Cabaret (I really mean Muppet Treasure Island... shut up, go away, leave me alone!) I'm constantly updating my sue list so if you wanna play, hit me up. -Jess ((Updated 10/17/08))

Howdy! I’m Brandi and I’m a Texan that recently relocated to Orlando with my husband, my best friend and my cat. I'm 27 and hold a Master’s degree in Visualization Science, but it doesn’t stop me from trying to be a starving artist out of my house. And it doesn’t mean I’m a skilled writer. I’m one of the few people here that have a history in roleplaying instead of writing. I love working with other people to make a fun story. I’ve table-topped (like D&D) and LARPed. I play a lot of characters and am always up for any ideas you might have. I like to try new and different things, so if you have some zany idea, you should mention it. That being said, I am a stickler for continuity and it’s important to me that my characters’ timelines flows in some manner that’s easy to understand. My favorite part of roleplay is character development. And having fun. I like that too. I’ve been a Phantom phan for more than 14 years and find I enjoy almost every version on some level. I also love film (especially scifi/horror/psychological thrillers) and spend a lot of evenings/weekends watching them. And I enjoy eating too. Especially sweets. Other than that, I’m pretty open-minded so if you ever have a question or want to talk about something, feel free to drop me a line. I try to be on at least once a day (unless I’m out of town for some reason). -----UPDATE AS OF 04/12/09----- Ok, so I just moved to LA. My husband is working for Dreamworks now. I still love the verse and movies and kitties and steampunk and crafting and sewing and such. Though depending on how the work situation goes here (I'm trying to work online, but it's monitored) I may not be able to be around as much. But I'm hopeful. My updated character list

*waves* Hi, I'm Jonie, twin sister of the girl playing Kiba. I kept reading over her shoulder and she told me to "JUST JOIN ALREADY." Playing Rinoa was a given, since... I'll explain later. I am eighteen, heavily inclined towards writing in particular and the performing arts in general, with a little craftwork on the side. My job is being the lackey of everyone else at a local fast-food restaurant, the funds of which I plan to use towards my college tuition and FanimeCon. I like ballroom dancing, particularly waltz, which is easier on my ankles than ballet. I was trained in ballet for about three years until a handicapped person slammed their wheelchair into the backs of my ankles and pretty much gave me Achilles tendonitis. I was only a casual ballet dancer, but ballet is a strenuous art even if you're not a professional. So yeah. Anyway! Crafts are a super thing with me. I am good at crafts, and I really enjoy them, but not as recreation. In order for me to do craftwork I have to be making something I will use. Clothes--socks--ito cord for the hilt of a katana--etc. Rarely will I start working on something for the heck of it. TV Tropes is one of my sources for ideas when it comes to writing. I plan to make writing my career. I love cosplaying. In specific: I love cosplaying Rinoa Heartilly (two costumes are already complete). Several other costumes are being worked on, and those fandoms aren't nearly as well-known as Final Fantasy cosplays, but I hope I do a good enough job to have people will take pictures of me anyway. In person, I am rather shy (unless I'm at a con in cosplay); but on the Internet I'm quite friendly. Feel free to drop me a line on aim (leradny), or friend me on livejournal (leradny); chances are I will just say "Hello! Er, so where do I know you from again?" or friend you back and read your journal as soon as I get the message.

My name is Jamie and I play Kiba, the closest thing to a normal wolf that the Sueniverse currently has. I am the older twin sister of Jonie, who recently joined as Rinoa after she kept reading my threads and was sometimes more up-to-date on them than I was. My interests lie quite solidly in the arts, theater, writing, psychology, and animal behavior, and I also like video games way more than is healthy. I also have a HUGE thing for realism, so I chose to play Kiba because I wondered what would happen if the end of Wolf's Rain turned out differently.
I graduated high school in June, on Friday the Thirteenth. I'm learning how to drive and am making good progress, considering I get petrified whenever I start driving on streets with actual PEOPLE. I am looking for have a job and hope to attend the San Francisco Academy of Art for my Bachelor of (maybe Fine) Arts, but I have done neither of them yet. I couldn't find a job because all my OTHER friends took the good ones earlier in the year, and I'm not enrolling at the Academy because I need a job will use it to help pay for tuition at the San Francisco Academy of Art. My mom's going to help me with the tuition fee, but still--ten thousand a year? That's SO much more than a community college!
Okay, where was I?
I have a dog. I love dogs! And by extension, I love wolves. I'm okay with cats, but I'm allergic to them so even if I did want a cat, I would always be sneezing and blowing my nose.
I would never get a wolf-dog, though. Even if they were legal in California, I don't have the room, money, or time necessary to care for one properly. I would also be the slightest bit afraid of it no matter what, and apparently dogs and wolves CAN sense fear by reading your body language and smelling all the chemical reactions that fear sets off in humans, which is not good.
I am quite spiritual as well; I've been Celtic Wiccan for a few years and am naturally quite tolerant of whatever doesn't piss me off. The key words are "doesn't piss me off." If I don't like you, I don't like YOU. I won't change my opinion if you happen to be gay, bi, Wiccan, Muslim, or Buddhist.
You might have noticed that I go off on tangents a lot. ...Yeah.
EDIT: I now play Tsume as well, who is also from Wolf's Rain and my personal favorite of all the characters.
EDIT: I also play the Mad Hatter from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
EDIT: I now play the Unicorn from The Last Unicorn and Dr. Horrible from Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.

Hiii everybody! I'm Micaela, obviously enough, and I play all of these fine folk. If you look into them, I obviously like 19th century high society. Heiresses, spinsters, heirs, younger sons. Oh, and I'm notoriously notorious for having my sues spawn a LOT of children. Oh, and singing. A lot of my characters are artistically talented, mostly because either I participate in the arts, or I wish I was better at them. I live in Ohio and I'm pretty much boring. Into musical theatre, French, a lot of other artsy stuff. I dabble a lot in drawing, writing, etc. I read a TON, and my favorites are anything Austen (particularly Northanger Abbey), The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell, and Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier. Things like that; anything set in the 19th century is right up my alley. I have two dogs; a black lab and a chocolate lab, and this is a work in progress and I have to go so that's all for now!

Sure.. why not. Howdy. I'm Jeremy, the aforementioned best friend from Brandi's post. I'm also from Texas and now living in Orlando. I started playing on the verse while living in Oklahoma as it was a way to interact with my best friend whom I was missing. Before that I played in the national organization dedicated to White Wolf's Vampire Live Action Role Playing game. (LARP) Even before that I was table top gaming with games like Dungeons and Dragons and many many more.
Guess I'm not the only one anymore but when I started being a male player was something of an oddity. I've got a list on the thread somewhere of who all I have but I mainly only play War (my first), Stu!me (almost never as he's pretty anti-sue/angst/drama, cause I am in real life), Lucifer (All tempter-y right out of The Prophecy) and Richard Wilkins (mayor from Buffy). I've got a few more but I rarely even play the above. Just hard to find the motivation.
Other than RP wise I love to cook. Lots. Have a mild obsession with Steampunk and zombies and tend to lurk on the 'verse reading whatever threads strike my fancy.
With the newest influx of players (whom this thread is partially for I assume) I'm feeling my age more and more. So don't be surprised if I randomly hop into the old chat and go off on an "in my day we Barbie-smashed up hill. Both ways." In fact ignore it... we never did. Especially the me part of we.

I'm Marijke, I live in the Netherlands and study in the den of sin known as Amsterdam. I am currently busy with my second year of law school. I am also trying to write this book, first draft is done but it sucks monkey balls, so yeah. I used play all of these people before I want MIA. I am planning to retire a couple, but I am not sure which ones yet, so if you want plot with any of them just pm me. I'm kind of an oldie, but you new folks probably don't recognize me cause I have the annoying tendency to get swamped in real life and forget about this wonderful place which has helped me so much with my writing that I should totally dedicate my book to y'all. Ehm .... I am pretty open to any plots. I'm coooool like that. Though I gotta warn you, most of my characters are either complete bastards, or ignorant ditzes. What else to say? .... Well English isn't my first language, so if you spot a mistake that my trustworthy Firefox spell check didn't catch, then do call me out on it, so I can learn from it.

Hey y'all. I'm a very new newbie here (like, a few days ago) and some of you have already talked to me in the Cbox and Olde Chatte As I mentioned in my other intro post, my name is Corinne, and I'm from Ohio. My self-insert character is, so far, me, but lucky enough to fall into a metaphorical rabbit hole, so if you want to know more about my life thus far just read her backstory. (Yeah, I am just that lazy ) I found this place via TVTropes: random link-clicking led me to the Sueniverse entry, and once I read about some of the very special snowflake things that go on here, I was all "I have GOT to check this out." Plus, it's been uber-long since I've had any real good RP experience, and I'm...kind of on the outs with my fanfic-writing right now. That's how I usually get my crazy Internet fandom kick, but lately I've had no ideas/motivation and it's been unbelievably frustrating. So I need the break. In RL, I am a member of a Renaissance Performer's Guild (we put on our own Renaissance Faire! *ding*) and am very proud to say that this year I am a member of the main cast. Actually, I'm basically the female good-guy lead. It's also the first year I've played on the good side, incidentally: the last three I've all been a baddie. Mwahahaha. I study anthropology. I want to be an archaeologist someday; currently I'm in my senior year of undergrad and trying to get into grad school. Preferably one with a Mayanist I can study under. Or, any grad school at all at this point...my, uh, GPA ain't really what it should be. *shame* As far as PotO goes, I grew up listening to ALW. Thanks, Mom. And I saw it at the Palace Theatre in Cleveland when I was...five? Yeah, I clearly don't remember it that well, but I did enjoy it. I also saw the newer movie, and I did enjoy it, but it was mainly because I was watching it in a "This is not a good movie - this is a fun movie" state of mind. For similar reasons that I am not ashamed to admit I own Van Helsing on DVD. (Van and Drac SO needed to make out already, for reals yo.) Oh, I should probably talk about my writing/RPing, huh? Um. I like character development and continuity. I'm actually really turned on by complex plots, as long as they actually, you know, go somewhere. (I grew up on the 90s' Gargoyles cartoon - I'm sure that's where a lot of it comes from.) Expect me to be pestering the rest of you with tons of questions about what all has gone on before I showed up, by the by, and not because I feel like I have to: I am honesrtly intrigued. I love slash. I'm also really into villains; creating them, heel-face-turning them, romancing them, and/or seeing what makes them tick; I love it when they're complex, conflicted...but I also love it when they're just plain twisted. I love crazy/chaotic characters. I love badass women, good or evil. I love evil badasses being both evil and badass. I am a serious equal-opportunity-er when it comes to character pairings: I don't care who, because as long as it's done well I am so there. I love wacky mishmash stories - where cyberpunk meets magic meets boy detective meets magical schoolgirl meets zombie meets pirate ninja shark. (Again, see the thing about Gargoyles.) I like the crack...as long as it makes sense, in context. I am a big, big fan of taking the crazy premise and approaching it from a "realistic" perspective - what would actually happen if this happened to these characters? I guess I really do believe that character should drive story. As an RPer I tend to flipflop between plotting things out and making it up as I go. Generally I like to have a few major tentpoles of plot that I know will happen but let the characters fill the rest in for me as they react - and if I can get away with it safely, I prefer not to know the ending. I want the situation to take me there itself. I also tend to have things decided about my characters that I might not bother to share, because I only want to mention them if they come up on their own. An example: the last D&D campaign I was in, I decided my Rogue had a secret crush on the Cleric. But I didn't want to mention it, because I doubted it would come up naturally in our scenario. Then we all got cursed in a dungeon with hearing each other's thoughts... Currently my characters are Insert!Me (Corinne Dee), Alice from the Resident Evil movies (Project Alice) and The Cheshire Cat. And I am trying to find good places for all of them...and with many more to come soon, I've no doubt. *evil, evil grin* ...Edit because I realized I should mention: I tend to be very open/matter-of-fact about sharing things that other people might consider very private or TMI. For example: I'm adopted. I'm bisexual. I'm a virgin. I'm currently on my period. See what what I mean? It honestly doesn't embarass me or make me feel awkward. But I understand that this is not the same for everyone. If having me talk on this level makes you feel uncomfortable, please do let me know and I'll try to edit myself around you.

OK, me. Who am I?
My name is Heather. I'm new. My characters are, thus far, Mohinder Suresh and She. I'm eighteen. I live in England but my Scottish father would throw a fit if I called myself English. I have Asperger's Syndrome. What else... I'm a slasher primarily, but I can do het. I got here through TVTropes, same as Corinne - it said on there that Crowley and Aziraphale are broken up, to which news I absolutely did not cry, not even a little bit, on account of not being a creepy-obsessed crazy person. Really.
I've never done an RP before. I'm afraid I'm not doing spectaculaly well at keeping Mohinder in character, but hell, if the show can't then why should I?

Alright! Good idea, this thread.
My name is Emily. I'll be 22 in a couple of months, and I'm currently living in Cork, Ireland, though I am Canadian born (in Vancouver) and raised (in Victoria), with dual-citizenship by my Dutch father. I've done half of a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, majoring in Creative Writing and minoring in Film Studies at the University of Victoria. I intend in the generalist sense to finish my degree and follow up with some courses in script supervision and try to get into the production side of the television and film industry in and around Vancouver and Victoria.
I consider myself a writer, though it is not a marketable occupation at the moment, and as I do not expect to blow out of university with an eight-book contract and a million dollars and ten people courting me for movie rights to whatever, I figure the script supervision would be an educational and challenging way for me to get a foot in the door, as I'm into the creative challenges along all points of the film-making process. I fiddle with making and editing short films in my spare time...or I did, anyway, back when I had spare time. My current situation as a live-in volunteer pretty well sucks up most of my time and energy.
I probably still hold the record on having the most characters here...I've stopped counting, but it is well over 60 last time I checked. As far as POTO canon goes, I play Madame Giry when she is needed and Nadir. Both have evolved into SueStu caricatures of their original selves, but they're kind of more fun that way.

Post by Irene on Dec 19, 2008 20:11:19 GMT -5
Hi! I'm Mira, and I have played many characters over my years here, some of which I still have while others have been deleted. Irene is my oldest, from back when we weren't even bothering to keep things in character, and some of my early posts embarass me- but that's how things evolve.
I'm known around here for- how shall I say it- often playing victims. I don't plan it out that way, it's just that when someone asks me if their character can do a terrible thing to mine I often (though not always) will reply "Sure!"
In real life, I'm a freshman at college, trying to balance theater, writing and psychology. I'm a movie nerd and a vampire trivia buff, with a love of some rather dark musicals. My self insert is Mira, but she's by now almost entirely a different person, so I made Miranda to be somewhat (though not much) closer to life.
I also play Christine, but she doesn't interact all that much...

Man, I keep forgetting to add stuff to this...
Hi, I'm Hallie, the youngest and most vertically challenged member of the Sueniverse. I've been on here about two years, and while I don't usually have a ton of plot, I'm on quite often. I live in Orange County, California. (No, I don't go to the beach that often if it's not summer. No, I don't live by the sea, I live in the hills that you always see burning on the news. And, no, my school is nothing like the show. Stop that.)
I found this place through the glory that is Phanwank when I was thirteen. I'm not really into Phantom anymore, but it's one of my less embarrassing past obsessions. (Current one's Good Omens. I play Crowley.)
I enjoy long walks on the beach (or, well, short ones that involve me getting to the water or to food), pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain. I'm really into choir and other singing stuff and I like to play piano. I'm a bit of a lazy butt student at school, but somehow get miracle A's, which is nice. My favorite subject this year is AP European History, except for the homework bit, and I'm a vegetarian. I'm known on the 'verse for being very political, tiny, having slight fangirlish tendancies, and being more than a little odd. I also find listing facts about myself quite awkward.
My favorite words/phrases are creeper, awkward, dude, rock/party on, man, and an assortment of French or Frenglish phrases I picked up in French class.
I'm also a lazybutt character keeper-tracker-of-er, so no list for you. The characters I've been playing lately are Sue!Me, Crowley, Clara, and Miguel, if that helps anything. XD

Hey, folks. I'm late to this party, mostly because I don't like talking about myself as I feel that I have nothing interesting to say (or I won't get the way I actually am across right). I'm Sarah, and I've been versing for two years now. I have, however, been role playing for much MUCH longer than this, though for the purposes of forum rp my "career" in it started back in 2005 on another forum. My interests, aside from RP, are gaming, books, musicals (like you wouldn't believe), and basically all that creative stuff (but I'm not manually creative, I guess. I write and I sing, though). I'm one of the older members of the 'verse, but I definitely DON'T act my age (mwahaha). I can be a bit cuckoo, but don't worry--that's both my personality and the obscene amounts of caffeine I consume. I live sunny Florida with a large passel of family members and a menagerie of pets. I'm responsible for this mess of people hereWith all these chars, I'm usually looking for plot, so if you're curious as to who needs screen time the most among my cast, just send me a PM.
