"I see."
Vampire or not, she wasn't sure she trusted him completely. She'd trusted too many people completely in her life, and where had it gotten her? Still, the idea of spending a night somewhere other than that dreadful boarding house was very appealing...
"Well then, I suppose I should be safe enough with you for one night."

"Shall we then?" *He offered an arm with overstated gallantry, out of place in the stormy weather.*

"Lead the way, monsieur," she responded, pointedly ignoring his arm.

***NEW DAY*** Kevin sat outside the church with a smile so full of genuine happiness and contentment that he almost looked out of place in Paris, where every smile seemed to hide an ulterior motive. Not that he ever noticed... he'd been well-trained to see the good in people and being near a church only brought out that side more. Besides, he had reason to be happy. Kevin had just finished scrawling down another poem: Seasons season my surroundings Lesions linger no further here Where importance is randomized for everything. He felt very pleased with himself, if a little thirsty. Kevin got up and in passing dropped some coins in a beggar's hat. Not enough for the amount to be extravagant... but easily enough to paint a large proverbial target on his back.
