Something amusing for old-time verse members- Lauren Bacall has come out against vampire romance:
“Yes I saw it, my granddaughter made me watch [Twilight], she said it was the greatest vampire film ever. After the ‘film’ was over, I wanted to smack her across her head with my shoe but I do not want a book called Grannie Dearest written about me when I die. So instead I gave her a DVD of Murnau’s 1922 masterpiece Nosferatu and told her, ‘Now that’s a vampire film!’”

So I joined as Moritz Stiefel to find that someone else has already joined as Ilse.
On one hand, my favorite is Lauren Pritchard's Ilse. But on the other hand, is it weird that I immediately have thoughts of A LOVE TRIANGLE WITH TWO VERSIONS OF ILSE?

Because we added Connors to the Repo/Watchmen 17-years-ago mashup I rewatched Repo! the other night and then decided to reread the old Repo-characters-related plots. First of all, wooooow, we have all improved as writers, slow clap, ouch. Second of all: Micaela's very presence had managed to virtually double the number of cameras Adrian Veidt was confronted with on a regular basis. The goings-on of a rich bachelor rumored to have had romantic entanglements with a number of well-known actresses and musicians who also had a reputation as one the most charitable and successful businessmen in the world- not to mention that of being the smartest man on the planet- attracted enough paparazzi attention on their own. But toss in the fact that he had now taken in a young girl to be his successor and heir ( he has no children of his own, you see- he must have simply never had a chance to meet the right woman, the poor dear), and that the girl was pretty and extremely intelligent in her own right ( and looks just like she could really be his, don't you think?), and it was practically miraculous that either of them could do anything without being photographed from every possible angle. HOLY SHIT THIS PLOT REALLY FINALLY CAME FULL CIRCLE

Oh my God, I would die. I feel like Ilse would be more mellow than most SA characters about there being two different versions of herself out there, but that would be hysterical. And I've got at least one other character who's Ilse-inspired, but he would mess Moritz way up, so they should probably neeeever ever meet.

Basically Gabriel is like Ilse and Melchior in a blender -- he started out as a hard-drinking free-spirited delinquent in stockings and now he's getting his languorous drug-kingpin on with Micaela's Nicolette, so I fear he's kind of migrated from his terrible youthful roots. But he would be a frankly terrible influence.

Bleh, I've been rewriting my theater script for so long that I'm completely tapped on ideas for Moritz.
Or my other characters, for that matter.

So I was bored (as I tend to be), and started wondering just where all my characters/plots were happening. Turns out that despite what I first thought, the majority of my characters are still in Paris:
Bruce Wayne/Batman (Paris) Treszka (Paris) László Nagy (Paris) Shilo Wallace (Paris) Alex (Paris) Zachaire de Chagny (Paris) Violetta de Chagny (Paris) Yaoya Oshichi (Paris) Linde Reinhold (Paris) Gambit (Paris)
Sarah (London) Daniel (London) Michelle (London) "Tasha" (London) Winter (London)
Tony Stark (New York) Pepper Potts (New York)
Carsomyr (Thedas) Maya (Thedas)
Amala (Lorien)

Well, back from both Nano and unexpected eye-appointment findings. On the plus side, I'll be heading back to my job in a couple of weeks.

I was reading this thing and wondering how to categorize verse characters and wondered what everyone thought of theirs? I made a list of the most prominent characters on the verse and tried to place them and some of them were kind of hard. Nina and Steve were pretty obviously The Orphan, and though you'd probably guess The Hero Thor seems most obviously The Caregiver - and then, I'm sorry Megan but I think Teja is too. Loki seems plainly The Rebel, and Selina totally is. Several of the male characters I have trouble choosing with - they seem to fit too many. Adrian stuck out as The Magician but The Ruler is depressingly accurate in ways and The Creator too; Doom sticks out as The Ruler, but The Magician fits him pretty damn well. Dan sticks out as The Sage but he too has shades of The Creator. But that makes sense since he's got kind of a dual personality anyway. And I thought Reed would be obviously the Magician but he might actually suit The Sage better. In the comics, it really comes down to who is writing him and if they're making an idealistic Reed or a Reed whose only interest in science is, well, science itself. Writers have been veering towards the former lately. Adrien seemed like The Innocent but The Lover is probably more accurate. I am heartbroken to report Tybalt is The Innocent. It's literally the only one that makes sense and on an intellectual level it frequently interests me how much his core personality doesn't remotely come across because his behavior has been so twisted by years of mistreatment. I'm sorry Megan but I think your sueself might be The Lover too. (I don't think you are though.) Krolock is hard to get a hold on. I thought The Ruler seems to suit who he's become but he also seems to suit The Creator. Idk he is very murky. If Herbert is anything but The Jester I won't believe you. Silva seems to be The Jester too but obviously his current motivations line up very strongly with The Rebel so who knows. Out of all of them, Curt was the one I couldn't place at all. I wrote down The Sage, but he's really hard to get a grasp on.
