Gabrielle was startled when Bijan suddenly changed the subject, she did not press him for more information. Whatever it is he had almost told her, he would when he felt ready-if ever. She tilted her head back up to the inky sky. "probably Centaurus" she said, pointing to where the vague centar-shaped cluster could be seen (provided you used your imagination). "I used to love to listen to the story behind it. what about you?"

Bijan turned to Gabrielle, "I've never heard the story behind it, but I would love to hear it now, if you don't mind telling it."

"Really?" she asked, turning on her side and leaning her head on her hand "Let's see if I can remember it..." she paused for a moment before beginning. "It's based in greek mythology, The centuar, I believe his name was Chiron, was a doctor and astronomer. He was also a trainer to the Gods, and it was widely said that he trained Hercules. After one training session an arrow fell out of Hercules' quiver and landed in the back of Chiron. The arrow had been poisond with thw blood of the Larenic snake. However, because he was immortal, Chiron did not die, instead he would endure a neverending lifetime of pain. Not being able to stand it anymore, Chiron went to the higher Gods and begged for death. Taking pity on him, they agreed. Because Chiron had lived his life in virtue, the Gods granted him a place under the stars" Gabrielle let her last sentence fade away. "I remember I always used to feel so sorry for him" ((*whew* I had to go and Google that one ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) ))

((that is a cool story))
Bijan looked up at the constilation as Gabrielle's voice carried him away, painting pictures in his head. when she was done Bijan turned back to her, "I can see why, that had to have been horrible, having such pain when you didn't do anything to deserve it." Although, that's not to much diffrent then what I live through each day.

Gabrielle only nodded absentmindedly it's a feeling I know all too well, even if it isn't physical pain...She rolled onto her back again, hr black dress was now sufficiently tangled around her long legs, but she paid no attention. "What was your childhood like?" she asked, examing the stars again.

Bijan glaced over at Gabrielle, he couldn't tell her everything, but most of it was okay. "well, my father was... er, died when I was two, and when I was 16 my mother died, but I did okay for myself, I was able to... get my own food, I moved around a lot, having no real base, finaly got a job and got myself off the streets, and then I moved here, and now here I am."

Gabrielle's face softend, "oh, I'm sorry to hear about your parents...that must have been hard". she paused, "At least mine are living, or were, even if we never talk to each other" Who are you kidding, they banished you! "well, I'm glad you decided to come here" she said, smiling broadly.

Bijan nodded, glad she didn't ask for details about his parents death, but the comment about her parents and herself not talking to eachother did not go unnoticed. Bijan smiled at Gabrielle, "I'm glad I came here as well."

Gabrielle sat up and streched her arms and back out, wincing only slightly at their stiffness. She looked over at Bijan "one can only lay on a stone surface for only so long" she said, laughter in her eyes. She leaned back on the palms of her hands, "i think you should give it a shot, who knows you might surprise yourself" she winked
