"Sometimes I meet interesting people" he leaned against the wall "I met a philosopher once, a friend, who was much in the state that you are in and one that knew the opera ghost.

Alex furrowed his brow.
"What do you mean, state I'm in? I'm kinda too ordinary to be comparing a philosopher to."

"Oh, I'm sorry, I meant and a friend, a young man, who was having relationship troubles."

"There's no trouble because there's no relationship." He said flatly. Why the hell did the conversation keep circling back to that?
He brightened a bit.
"Hmmm...oh, damn. I want to ask you some thing but you don't remember anything."
He strummed his fingers on the piano top.

"There is no harm in trying."

He shook his head.
"Nooo. Armand remembered nothing, it's probably the same in your case."
He poked at the piano keyboard, random little notes that somehow sounded part of a song.

He shrugged "It is unfortunate, there are so many people that remember me yet I know nothing of them, it's... just very unfortunate.."

"I think you and Armand are in the same boat, as far as that sort of thing goes."
The random notes had indeed resolved themselves into a song, one of the ones Alex had made up on the spot earlier.
"Though I bet Lestat won't know me, either, even though he turned me."

"He'd pretend, he too has been versed in the way of the future."

Alex snorted.
"According to Daniel, he didn't know jack until he read a few books."
He sighed.
"I don't understand why he'd pretend, though. Am I so horrible?"

"No, he is" Louis huffed "I didn't know anything until I read those books either, but, for one reason or another, he knows more, although it's hard to distinguish the truth from fiction with Lestat."

"I don't understand people like him." He said softly.
"That kind of behavior baffles me."

Louis laughed and walked over to Alex, sitting on the arm of a chair near the piano "I do not understand it any more than you do."

"I mean, I know I'm not perfect, but...jeez."

Louis laughed "Nobodies perfect, Lestat is malformed."
