*Madame Giry swept into the room like an icy wind. She thudded her stick on the floorboards and called everyone to attention.* "I have made up a rehearsal schedule. You will please come forward when I call your name and you shall have measurements taken for costumes at this time." *She made a small note in the blank book she carried and then continued.* "You will please tell me which role you will be playing, that I may make notes as to alterations for certain costumes should your role require a certain amount of dancing."

*Diamanta glanced over to Emmy.* Looks like you've been replaced.

*Madame Giry's gaze was sharp.* "Replaced?" *she walked over to the curly-haired girl and looked her up and down critically.* "You were the temporary mistress in my stead?" *she raised her eyes to the ceiling.* "Thank heavens I came back when I did."

*puts her hand on her hip and faces Madame Giry*
And just who are you? The managers put me in charge because of my extensive experience in opera. I've been eating, sleeping, and breathing opera since I was seven years old, you know. I'm something of a prodigy, so I suggest that you not interrupt me now, I'm trying to organize this rehearsal.

"I am the ballet mistress here--I have been so for fifteen years. My name is Madame Giry. The managers have been informed of my return." *She glanced at the idly milling singers and dancers.* Trying, indeed. "I can see you have been doing your best to conduct this rehearsal, but it does not seem to be running as smoothly as it ought. I shall take over from here." *she plucked the libretto from Emmy's hands.* "Good day to you, mademoiselle--I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch your name?"

*stares at Madame Giry as if she's speaking in tongues*
You're not Madame Giry. I think I would know if you were Madame Giry.
*takes the libretto back, as this person is clearly some psycho out to do her in, and possibly even a member of the paparazzi in disguise*

*Madame Giry raised a cool eyebrow.* "Are you one of the new girls in the corps de ballet? You seem a little confused. If you'll tell me your name, I'll make note of it and we shall speak once rehearsal is finished." *She took back the libretto and turned to the rest of he girls, speaking over her shoulder to Emmy.* "For now you will take a place in the back row--it's the only place where I've room to put you."

*attempts to conceal her shock at being spoken to like some ordinary person, as she doesn't want to look arrogant in whatever tabloid this woman writes for*
*clearing her throat* Madame, there seems to be some serious misunderstanding here; I spoke with the managers just yesterday, and they put me in charge of the rehearsals. I'm going to have to insist that you allow me to continue doing my job.

((Oh shut up, Percy. She can take care of herself from now on, you lying brat.))
*Madame Giry had had just about enough of this girl. Pursing her lips into a thin line she turned back to face the strange new girl and spoke in a calm, chilled tone.* "As I have informed you, the managers have been made aware of the situation as it now stands--as of this afternoon, you are hereby relieved of any and all duties previously thrust upon you. You are now merely a member of my corps de ballet and I would suggest that you seriously consider the possibility of taking my direction with grace and dignity such as I would expect from all my girls, and to not--" *she slammed her heavy stick against the floorboards for shuddering emphasis on her next words.* "MAKE A FOOL OF YOURSELF ANY LONGER, MADEMOISELLE!" *her ringing tones now filled the room and everyone present stared.* "YOU WILL CONDUCT YOURSELF IN A SEEMLY MANNER WHILST UNDER MY DIRECTION, YOU WILL TRUST MY DISCRETION, AND YOU WILL BE TOLERATED AND REMAIN OFF THE STREETS AND UNDER THIS ROOF IN RETURN FOR YOUR SIMPLE OBEDIANCE!" *She punctuated her diatribe with an upward tilting of her chin.* "I have nothing further to say to you Mademoiselle, but in the interest of gaining your co-operation on this matter, I must ask you--am I understood?"
