*Quasimodo wandered the cellars. He knew he should be getting back to Elphaba, who had been so kind to him, but there was so much to explore down here! It was much larger than the bell tower, and as a result, his repressed curiosity rather took his feet over and convinced him it would be fine to leave. Nobody really lived down here anyway. He plodded on, remembering his way back perfectly, making loud squishing sounds every time he stepped with his good left foot.*

*Edward watched the hunchback from the shadows, snickering silently at his unusual gait. He considered jumping out in front of Quasimodo, but instead opted for something a bit more subtle. He let out a low moan and scraped the heel of his boot against the ground. He scratched the stone wall with his fingernails, nearly sending chills up his own spine. He let out another moan, rubbed his feet against the ground a bit more, and leaned back against the wall to watch the results.*

**AS QUASIMODO**
*Quasimodo gasped and looked around him frantically.*
"Is someone there?" *He asked, quietly and terrified.*

*Edward laughed maniacally.*
"What do you think?" *He replied in a low, dangerous whisper.*

*Quasimodo backed up slowly until he hit the wall, breathing hard.*
"Sh.. Sh... show yourself!" *He cried, fastening his hand around his carving knife, which nonetheless could inflict quite a bit of damage. Not to mention he was ridiculously built and strong, despite being a hunchback. Bellringing did things for you.*

*Edward paused for a moment, wondering how he could make himself look more threatening. Quickly making up his mind, he pulled as much of his hair as possible into his face and hunched over a bit. Then, moving slowly, he shuffled a couple feet out of the shadows, making sure he wasn't fully in the light. He laughed again when he noticed the carving knife.*
"Do you really think you can do anything to me with that knife?"

*He assured himself that he could beat the man with his bare hands if he needed to.*
"Do you really think you're invincible?"

*Edward glanced over the man, now noticing he did indeed look as if he could be dangerous. Those large muscles looked rather threatening. He almost hesitated, but reminded himself he could always leave if things got risky.*
"I don't know. Do you think I'm invincible? I could be, for all you know."

*Quasimodo's eyes were threatening.*
"No man is invincible."

"Well, you don't know if I'm a man. They say there's a ghost down here..."
*Edward laughed threateningly again, but was beginning to feel a bit nervous. Things might start getting out of his control soon, and he didn't like that idea.*

"You're not the ghost. He wears a mask and a cape. And he's not a ghost, anyway. Just a man." *He said determinedly. Some loony wasn't going to get the best of him.*

*Edward swore silently. This would have been so much easier if the hunchback hadn't known that. Oh well, he could still try something.*
"Perhaps I am a man, then. You still don't know if I'm invincible. All sorts of people roam this opera house."

"I've watched men long enough to now that they all have a weakness."

*Edward began getting even more worried. This was definitely getting out of his control now. He could at least try to do something.*
"Yes, but do you know mine?" *He asked as he swept a foot under Quasimodo's legs, trying to trip him and cause a distraction.*

*He lost his balance and fell with a thud, but easily hopped up. He had taken quite a few falls as a child when ringing the bells and knew how to handle it. He hated hurting people, and so didn't do anything to Hyde.*
"It's only a matter of time. Obviously you don't like direct confrontation. You're scared of me." *He said, eyes blazing.*
