Jesse chuckled "Well lessee, it borders eight states, no other state does that, it's got some hills and lots of rivers. It's kinda humid mosta tha year an'da the temperature either get's real hot or real cold, but it's nice, real nice."
His hands dropped to his sides "I'm afraid however I ain't been there in quite some time."

*Christian laughed*
"The weather sounds like Switzerland. It can get pretty humid in the summer."
*The laughter faded away*
"Miss home?"

For a hundred years backwards.
"Yea, but back home I was always in trouble, at least here, I've gotta clear name an'a good job."

"Yeah...I miss the land, mostly, but I didn't really have a place there to call mine. I've just been on the road most of my life."
*He coughed, embarassed at having said so much*
"But coming from home to an opera house in France is definitely coming a long way."

*He shook his head*
"Exactly why I don't. Besides, maestro would kill me if I did that."

Jesse shook his head and popped the smoke back in it's package "Who's Maestro?"

*If it were any other opera singer asked that question, it wouldn't have been so loaded. But, considering that this was Christian...*
"My teacher." He said, a strange edge to the words. His feelings for Erik, as of late, had been rather jumbled. He wasn't sure what he felt anymore, truly.

"I hope it ain't that crazy Mozart fella, he drives me down the river and up again I'll tell you" he sighed and looked down at his cigarette which was seconds from burning his fingers. He flicked it off the roof.
"What you doin up here anyway?"

"Mozart? He's here?" For a moment, Christian could almost be called a fanboy. Then the moment passed.
"God, I don't know what I'd do if I ever met him."
*He glanced out, over the rooftops over the city*
"I come here to gather my thoughts, clear my head. It seems easier to think with the stars overhead."

"Yea he's here, causing a ruckus wherever he goes" he smiled at Christians comment's about the stars "yea, it's real purty up here, my momma used ta say that god was in the stars, watching us, just waitin for us to come home."

"That's beautiful."
*He glanced up, watching the sky*
"Mine taught me the constellations. How to recognize them."
*A note of nostalgia had crept into his voice*

"I only ever knew'a the big and lil' dippers, and where ta find the north star" he sighed "they didn't teach us about astronomy or none'a that stuff back home, jus' how ta read and write and do math."

*He chuckled*
"I never learned the constellations in school, either. But they're actually not that hard."
*He pointed to a grouping of stars*
"See those there? That's Orion."
*As he talked, he traced the shape of it in the air*

Jesse came closer to Christian and looked up "Wow" he whispered as the boy traced the constellation in the sky.
