“I’m a shapeshifter, you absolute idiot-“
Loki took a few steps toward Adrian and subtly changed, becoming a bit shorter and not quite as angular, if not much less.
“Do you think I’d have shown up letting anyone know about it if I’d had another psychological collapse?”
Loki’s voice was a little higher now as well, a bit less dry. She stood a little below Adrian like this, but that let her get close enough to put her face in his.

Adrian took a step back, for his own sanity at least.
"Yes, frankly. I think you'd want to perform it."

Loki noticed this, and couldn’t quite suppress a small smirk.
“Ah,” she said. “Was that all? And here I thought you liked me.”

"I've never seen you like this, though I've heard it described," he said carefully, knowing if he averted his eyes, Loki would never let him live it down. He met her gaze evenly. "Teja's very taken with it."

“So she gossips with you, too?” Loki asked, lifting her eyebrows. “I might have guessed. She tells me all kinds of things about you.”
She touched his cheek, very briefly, with one fingertip, and smiled.

"I wouldn't call your wife a gossip. She's merely... enthusiastic about you."
Who could blame her.

“She says you are, too,” Loki said, beaming.

He wasn't even a little shocked she'd passed that on, but it bruised a little, if for no other reason than because it verged on humiliating to have Loki flinging it in his face. Somehow, though, the way all of it came together, he did not know that he minded.
"You knew that part already," he reminded him - her - in a concession.

“‘Course,” she said, crossing her arms and examining him thoughtfully, “this isn’t what you enjoy, is it?”
By the time Loki had finished speaking, his voice had slid back to its usual timbre, with his usual appearance to match. He squinted at Adrian for a brief moment.
“I still don’t think you look much like Fandral,” he said. “More’s the pity for that. Makes me wonder what I’ll get out of this.”
And at that, he kissed him- suddenly, forcefully, with an impartial, testing sort of roughness, as though waiting to see how Adrian would react. After a moment, though, one hand slipped up from Adrian’s back to clutch the back of his neck, hard, fingers curving into his hair.

Adrian Veidt was a difficult man to catch off guard, but that would do it. After a moment of reluctance, he gave in - kissing back harder, pushing Loki back against the desk.

“Oh,” Loki laughed, in a low, smug sort of voice. “That’s what I get.”
He moved his hand a little higher to grasp Adrian by the hair and pulled him away.
“I think I can do better than that, though. Don’t you agree?”

Adrian's breathing came in heavy. First one of them, now the other.
"What's this about?"

“This is what you want, isn’t it?” Loki asked, the smile and the bright, cat-that-caught-the canary pride fading out in favor of something sharper and more confrontational. “I’ll stop if you want me to. But I don’t think you want me to, do you?”

Adrian groaned without meaning to. "I think I know where this is going - and I'd rather not, thank you-"

“Yes or no, Adrian,” Loki said, tightening his grip.
