Sarah started to say something else when there was a knock on the door. With a sigh, she said: "Yes?"
"Mum, we aren't through yet, there's a few more dresses to measure out."
"Okay, I'll be right there."
She glanced up at Jay.
"Can't keep them waiting."

She rolled her eyes at the voices outside.
"Well, duty calls, I shall find you again!"
With one more kiss, she scurried out of the room, dreading the rest of the day. She knew it would be more of the same.

Jay looked at the door a little sadly as she left.
It would all be different now, but he could manage.

And so, she was once again caught up in a whirlwind of activity. At the least, they couldn't keep at it all day, and she did get something of a tiny bit of satisfaction at giving out orders and having them immediately followed. She did it sparingly, though, very aware of the fact that such authority could be abused. Even if she didn't have a lot of actual political power, Sarah resolved to be as fair a Queen as possible .
