"Well, you can, when we get home, and you destroy that dragon."

She didn't like thinking of fighting a dragon. She'd barely survived fighting a vampire, which was considerably less powerful though just as scary, albeit for different reasons.
"Oh, yeah." She sighed. "All my books are back at the house."

"Was there something you needed?"

"I need to not be bored when I'm not practicing with swords." She said with a wry smile.
"I've just always had my books at hand."

"Well now I'm here" he laughed "although, as you know, I'm not all that entertaining."

She lightly bopped him on the shoulder.
"You are too entertaining."

"And you are too sweet" he reached out for her hand and smiled "I was lost without you, you know that?"

"You shouldn't be. As long as I'm still alive somewhere, you shouldn't be." She said.
She knew very well what his disposition was like, and it often worried her that one day the 'verse might do something like make somebody kidnap and then Jay might jump off a balcony if he couldn't get her back.
It was very uncomfortable to think someone depended on you that much.

((OH god and he would, he's so sad.))
"Yes, and I know this" he smiled sadly "you just, you know how I am, a little... dependent to say the least."

((Sadly in real life I know Jay would've scared me off with that level of melancholy a long time ago. Someone literally dying without me is not a thought I like. I'd want them to go on and live life, because their life isn't over and it existed before I came along. ...wow. Lots of words. <_<))
"Try...to be independent." She said gently.
"I'm not the best kind of person to be leaning on that hard."

((WORDS! Yes, I used to date someone a little like my Jay, he's a wee off kilter that's for sure.))
He smiled sadly "I'll try."

"Well," she said, getting to her feet.
"One of the things I've discovered is that my magic doesn't work here. I'm not sure I'd want it to, though--who knows what would happen in this wacky place?"

"Well, I imagine then you'll have an advantage when the fight comes along back home."

She nodded.
"It helped against Maria, and that was something less powerful. I'm going to need everything."
But she had to stop thinking of the dragon in terms of D&D dragons--the Jabberwock was no such thing and for all she knew, it was some nightmare-looking thing with bat wings.
((I wish I had a picture of the Jabberwock from this one made for TV Alice in Wonderland min-series. The thing looked like the stuff of nightmares and that's pretty much what I'm imagining right now xD))

((XD))
"You'll be ready" he smiled "I believe in you, if that means anything."
