"Ah, at, any rate- Cap had tried to join the army multiple times, all under assumed names and false birthplaces. He'd been disgusted by what he saw on the news reel's of what the Nazi's were doing in Germany and what Japan was doing in Korea and China. But due to his multiple health issues and frail state, they stamped him with a 4H and told him to go home. But he kept trying, eventually he got the attention of a doctor named Abraham Erskine, the inventor of the super solider serum."
He took a breath "You know this could take a while, would you like me to write it all up and send you an e-mail?"

"Nn-mm. Tell me," he said, awed and rapt.

In the next 10 minutes Dan tried to summarize everything he knew about Captain America and his time in Germany and Japan.
"Only he knows truly what happened in that plane that night, but the world lost a hero that night and the Red Skull never had been heard of again. He saved millions, not only that night, but throughout the war."

Dan laughed "And he bought you a sandwich."

"Do you know how I first met him, Dan?" he asked, breathing a bit labored as it always was whenever he got excited. "Two guys were harrassing me, thinking I was a chick, and this guy just comes in and says, 'Is there a problem?', and they take one look at him and run off, and he says, 'That's what I thought' and helps me pick up the flowers. Oh, I had some flowers and they took them and wouldn't give me 'em back until I'd told them my name. Men like that make you glad you ain't a lady, but men like Steve..." It was quickly back to gushing. "God, if I were a girl, a real girl, I'd just wanna move into a house with him and have his babies, damn!" He sounded wistful, even sad.

((Oh gosh))
Dan smiled "Well thank god he was there, who knows what could have happened" but the mention of Adrien's cross dressing made Dan feel a little sad. He was sure that Steve Rogers didn't even know that Adrien was a man, he didn't have to ask Adrien to know.
As righteous and noble as Captain America was, he could be sure, that finding out this girl he'd met was in fact a man, would make an impact, and not a good one.

"Heh, I know," said Adrien darkly, but with a laugh to his voice. "Getting beat up and left in an alleyway. It's bad enough for a guy to know you're a guy too, but if he was hitting on ya first? That's baaad."

"That's true" he swallowed, he had to change the subject back to something lighter "so what did you guy's talk about?"

"Oh, stuff. Movies and....oh, well. Adrian, a bit. I mean, obviously I can't tell him everything, but stuff just kinda slips out. Sometimes that bastard's all I can think about. He told me about some stuff too. Losing a friend in the war, what it was like when he crashed the plane... losing the girl he might'a ended up with. I wish I were a girl, you know? Could do the whole Cinderella thing, glass pumps, Prince Charming, happy-ever-after. I never thought I'd get that sort of thing, obviously, but now I'm starting realize some people do and I ain't one and it blows. You know?"

Bucky, Peggy...
"You can still do all that, look just because life is hard right now, doesn't mean you wont find someone that will treat you like the princess, if that's what you want" he knew with Adrian, Adrien would never get that, ever.

"Puh. That's how I met Adrian, crashing a party and all," he said flippantly. "But I'm not a princess. I can only play pretend, but when the dresses come off, you know, I can't pretend anymore. But.... the pretending... it's nice, if it's your only option. I got to be a real lady today. It sure feels better than what I'm used to."

"I'm sorry it has to be that way Adrien" he replied truthfully "but you get the option to be whatever you want when you want. When you want to be a lady, you can, when you don't, then you don't. Some people live their whole lives trapped in bodies they don't believe they should have been. I don't know if that's how you feel, but I do know, for some people, they never get the chance to feel what it feels like to be on the other side."
Dan said this as fact, not as a wish of his own. He'd always been comfortable in his skin, even if it was a little pudgy at times.
