The tingling was no longer a prickle, but it was beginning to intensify - first to warmth, and then to something else. Tybalt couldn't quite open his eyes, just squint at the brilliance.
"F-fine, my lord?"
If Doom was certain.... but no, this didn't seem fine... but what would Tybalt know...

"Now put an end to it, the way you began. Do you remember your seals, Tybalt? Slowly--"

Yes, more incantations - but everything fled Tybalt's mind. His eyes stung, not from light now - smoke? Was he smoking?
"My lord?" he repeated, lips gone dry, going into a panic.

The noise that escaped Doom's lips was more exasperated than anything. Acrid smoke, which should not be a part of this particular spell--
"Be calm, Tybalt, there has been a small -- mishap that Doom has not accounted for--"

And now we panic.
A combination of the natural escalation of the energy he was channeling, and the sudden loss of control from his swift terror, caused the heat to become very intense indeed, and his ability to stand upright was suddenly inversely proportionate to the amount of power he was generating. Tybalt gave a very pained cry and collapsed.

Suddenly: arms full of Italian man.
Doom caught him before he hit the ground, cursing his own inaction and swatting at flames. They would have been easy enough to smother, were they not magical in nature, and the effort of forcing them back into nonexistence was a little much when he was also trying to make sure that Tybalt did not begin to seize. The damned locket was absorbing much of the heat, and if nothing else Tybalt's shirt was going to have to come off.

The effect was cancelled out by a simple enough mercy in the end - Tybalt blacked out, better than having a seizure at least, and with his consciousness so did the light and the flames.
His shirt was disintegrating, having burned up in places, and his skin was blistering under the locket, which would have to be removed immediately to prevent further injury. A depressing little symbol for how thoughts of Verona prevented him from giving himself more fully to Doom.

Doom removed it, not particularly gently given its wearer was in no position to take offense, and drew in a little hiss of breath at the sight of the damage on Tybalt's bare skin. He caught a glimpse of what was on it -- not particularly surprising -- and cast it aside, cupping one hand over the site of the injury and letting a little healing power bubble out to contain the damage for now.
As Tybalt slumped, Doom knelt to hold him, still cursing.

It was a few minutes before Tybalt came to, gasping in pain and drawing his arms around Doom like a child, not even appearing to realize where he was or to whom he was clinging.

"A most memorable experience," Doom muttered, among other things as he readjusted his hold on him cautiously.

Tybalt's breath came hard and shuddery and steamed up the front of Doom's armour, though Tybalt didn't seem to notice. "Have I dissatisfied you, lord?"

"There are more immediate concerns," Doom said grimly. "Forgive the destruction of your clothing."

"It was mine because you gave it to me, I'm in - your service-"
He seemed disoriented greatly, and to be having a hard time keeping himself upright, gripping a fistful of Doom's cloak.

Doom replaced his arm around him for support, mindful of Tybalt's current state.
"There is no permanent damage to your person, or to Doom's. An unfortunate mishap, but a beginner's mistake, you are forgiven."
