He gave John's hand a gentle shake.
"Come on. Think about something that makes you happy for a moment."

John smiled "You're right here, I don't have to."

Coming from anyone else, the statement would have made him roll his eyes. From John, it got one of those rare genuine smiles.
"I should've known you'd say something like that."

"I'm a hopeless romantic, and an old man, were full of cheesy one liners."

He poked John's side.
"Hey, what'd I tell you before? You're not an old man."

The day had been odd, too odd, and although it was hard too smile, he had to... for all of their sakes.

He rolled his eyes.

"Can't help it, when I feel like 80 you know" he cracked his neck as they came in to the kitchen, there were a few people standing around helping Hazel and Lost with the dinner, one an older lady that was telling Hazel the way her family made spaghetti back in Italy.
Smiling softly he looked out in to the dining room, where multiple people sat waiting for dinner, all smiling, glad to have a place out of the cold, and a warm dinner to look forward to.
He let go of Laszlo's waist and patted him on the back, then went to help an old man in to a seat.

László grabbed the nearest chair and sat down.
"So did I hear that the menu tonight is Italian?"

"Sounds good to me. Too bad I can't cook, I'd try to make something Hungarian. It's been a while since I've eaten anything like at back in Dracheheim."

"Don't worry about it. I really don't care as long as it's good."
Unless it was something gross-sounding, like squid. Not in a million years would he eat that.
