Linde blinked at his response. She didn't know where they could be!
Even so, she quietly berated herself: it couldn't be that hard to guess, yes? And she had a feeling that she was making him angry with her.
"Of-of course. I'll speak to them right away." With a curtsey that somehow managed not to be awkward, she exited the room, and quickly headed off.
Now she had to actually find them and back up her seeming competence.

The memory of actually hiring the poor girl had returned, in a swirl of assorted others. But he didn't want to think too long upon children. He settled back into the haze of his previous meditation.
"They speak little French," Blaize called after the girl as a bit of an afterthought, and began pouring another glass.

She slowed when he called out. Well, her French was all right, but if they didn't speak it, that wasn't too bad, right? She knew other languages if it came to that...
It was probably too much to hope for that they knew German.
"I'll keep it in mind!" She called back.

(( Shall we new-day? I have half a mind to make some Creepy Children accounts for the express purposes of this plot, I might do that too. *g* Would that be all right?)

((Speed-up sounds good to me! And if you only need the children for some scenes, you can always just used the NPC account))

(( I would be extremely tempted to keep using them, though. Would you be chill with other characters in the plot, even if they're still only glorified NPCage?))

(( Augh, this is taking longer than I thought, I'm sorry! After ye long road trip of doom I did the smart thing and did four solid days of conventionggoing so I'm like completely out of both energy and spoons. ))

(( Okay, now it is on. Sorry for the delay, once again. xD And look! She's not blonde! Presuming Linde didn't have too much trouble with only two spooky Gorey illustrations for assistance... ))
The guest suites were mercifully not as austere as the name suggested. In fact, they were appreciably airier and more pleasant than the rest of the house -- paneled in lighter wood, and unmarked by the palpable gloom of the house's male inhabitant. Several rooms branching off of a single hallway, and the largest at the end, door flung wide open. Pleasant enough. The casement windows were flung open, letting in a sharp breeze but light and life, as well.
The fact that a little girl was perched on the edge of one, peering intently out into the courtyard, was a little more alarming.

Feeling lighter thanks to the difference in atmosphere in this area of the house, Linde was feeling a little less anxious about her employment situation (although her nervousness in regards to her employer was still there, in the back of her mind). She'd started to breathe easier when she saw the child sitting so precariously. Immediately, her instincts kicked in.
"Oh! Miss...please be careful!" She called, moving forward as quickly as her luggage would allow.
It didn't matter if this child was one of her charges or not, she would call any person that she wasn't on an informal basis with "sir" or "miss".

The girl turned her head, dark locks swinging, and seemed to have a moment of recognition -- and then a queer sort of disappointment.
"It's you!"

"Yes," Linde huffed, setting the luggage down just before reaching the girl.
"I'm Linde. And you...?"
She knew there were two, but thanks to the odd nature of the drawings she wasn't sure which child this one was.
