Eddy lead Yaoya to the front of the restaurant and smiled "Bienvenue à l'agneau Heureux! Welcome, to The Happy Lamb in Jess's terrible, terrible French!"

"Wonderful! I look forward to it."
But, she now realized, she'd likely have to have him read the menu to her--she understood spoken French now, but she still hadn't quite learned it well enough to read it.

He smiled and opened the door, in moments they were seated and Eddy was naming thing off the menu.

"Oh, that soup sounds good..." She said, when he'd reached a certain part of the menu.
She was grateful for him helping her, though she was determined to learn how to read and write French so she wouldn't have to depend on someone else again.

((Oh he's being so nice, I'd hate to ruin it all by the fact that he's really kind of terrible.))
"Oh it is" he named off the ingredients "you don't happen to be a vegetarian?"

((Aww, I know. But Oshichi is not a wilting flower, so we'll see how this goes.))
"Oh, no. I enjoy many different kinds of foods, meat included."

"Good, because it's got duck in it" he laughed.

Yaoya laughed.
"Oh, duck's fine! And...isn't there duck in another dish? l'orange or something like that?"
Ah, she'd remembered--being here at the cafe had jolted that memory she'd have of coming across that dish's name. As she recalled, it'd smelled delicious.

"Oh yes, it's ce magnifique!"
He chuckled and leaned his head in to his hands, studying her. She was so sweet, but he sensed something under the surface, something powerful. Scoffing, he reminded himself he couldn't actually sense those things anymore, no more immortality, meant no more super powers.

"I'll have to try that later."
She was cautiously optimistic about this--hopefully she had a new friend, and though she really didn't think of it in those terms, perhaps a prospect of something more. She'd been so hung up once, it would be nice to have something instead to look forward to instead of back...

"Do, do, but today, soup!" He called the waiter over and in his best french ordered their food.

As he ordered, Yaoya took in the environment of the restaurant, finding it both curious but pleasant to be in. The set-up was much different than what she was used to in Japan, but at it's core it still had a lot of comforting familiarities to it.

In a few minutes, and through some small talk the soup was there. He'd been fingering the bottle of zydrate so long that the bottle was becoming warm, he knew that the effects of the drug were so much better when injected, but he'd drank it before and he knew it would be enough to show this girl the time of her life.
Luckily her French was bad enough that she never even noticed he'd ordered the same soup, only got no onions in his. When the soup arrived, he prayed the waiter would set his soup on her side.
And he did.
It was hard to see the difference, grabbing his spoon he slowly poured the blue liquid in the soup. If anyone looked, they'd see nothing but a man holding his soup. As he finished he looked down "Woopsies, looks like they gave you my soup, onions make my tummy grumble."

((Oh my god date rape drugs! *calls the police* ... )) "Oh!" Yaoya said, glancing between the bowls. "They both look enough alike that I didn't realize." Smiling, she switched the bowls around, none the wiser about the Zydrate. "There."

((You know, at one time Eddy actually had scruples, he actually cared for someone, well then his heart got all stampled on again, his brother went missing and he became a drug addict. Yea, I love my time traveling, ex immortal, totally straight, but so could be gay, ex king.))
He grinned "It's an easy miss, I mean they make those onions so small! But I'm crazy about my food, so I'm terribly careful."
