"I truly didn't mean to go, I just was there one minute and waking up at home the next, like it had been a dream all along--"

"I know that now," he said distractedly. "Look, Adrien's back in his room right now- why don't you keep him company? He can tell you about the wedding-"

"He's here?"
A pause to process the information.
"You're getting married?"
With that, she hugged him.

"No, we already are."
He appeared distinctly discomfited by the hug.

She made some kind of excited noise and pulled away.
"His room is that way, right?"
Whatever was going on would just have to wait.

She moved off down the hall.

Adrian hesitated.
"Micaela-"

She turned.
"Yes?"

"...I need to speak with you in private."
At this point, there was nothing to lose.

A little confused, she nodded and started walking back towards him.

Adrian sighed and waved her into the next room.
"Sit..."

He told her.

"Adrian-- I-- how could--"
She stood, shaking.
"No, this isn't--" She was rapidly dissolving into tears, and as if to make matters worse, the shaking became flickering.
"No, no no NO!" She raised her voice, screams echoing through Karnak. "Adrian, how could you--"
But she was gone. She awoke in her room in Boston, sobbing, and was comforted by a very confused roommate. Micaela would claim it was some kind of night terror, that she couldn't remember the dream, only that she felt as if the world were crashing down around her ears.
