"I'll just have a croque monsieur, thank you," said Meg. "Oh, and the pastry tray. And maybe some cocoa..."
She glanced back at the menu to see if there was anything else she wanted to load up on before she went back to the Opera and its ideas of what dancers were supposed to eat.

"I want one of those," Adrien announced. "A cocoa, I mean. Hmm. Or coffee - no, cocoa."
The waitress looked put upon but only raised her eyebrows as she scribbled and asked if that would be all.
"Can we keep the menu?" Adrien asked. "For if we want dessert after?"

Meg nodded enthusiastically at this idea.

The waitress nodded and left with their orders on a notepad, and Adrien looked back at his upside-down postcards, turning one sideways so that they both could still see it, but he could see it better than before. "That's in Budapest. I got to stroll there for like an hour. It was kind of fantastic. I didn't actually see the Opera House, though," and now he looked almost sad. The postcard made it look like something out of a fairy tale.
((TRUFAX: I HAS A POSTCARD OF THE BUDAPEST OPERA HOUSE.
...I actually also have one of the French opera house. ^_^))

"I'm Meg," she said suddenly.

"Adrien," he said, hurriedly putting his hand forward.

Meg beamed and took his hand.

He shook it firmly, but a little tentatively, as though inviting her to put more pressure on his hand and make it mutual.
"Have you ever been out of Paris?"

Meg hesitated a little.
"I might be soon. But not yet."

Adrien tilted his head in curiosity.

"Well - well, I mean, if you insist - "
He attempted to stack the postcards into a card house, but they toppled before he could really even begin building.
"Outside of this I've only ever been to Corsica and Marseilles," he said truthfully. It still hadn't occurred to him that maybe he'd someday be going to NYC.

"And places in between, of course," said Meg. "You can't go somewhere without going to all the places between here and there, too."
