"That depends. I know how to fight things in a world so dangerous--but, at the same time, my world also had so many good things."

"More good things than this world, I hope," he said bitterly.

"All worlds have good and bad, no matter what." She said thoughtfully.
"I don't think you can ever completely get rid of bad. You just have to do your best to make it outnumbered by the good."

"I don't know if that is possible. People are just... rotten." He snorted and got up. "Let's go, perhaps you can help the poor woman in her trip to heaven."

"It is possible." Yuna said resolutely, getting to her feet.
"Right. Let's go." So saying, she led the way to the opera house.

Secretly he was happy with her taking charge and he followed docile as cattle, hardly seeing anything around him.

***NEW DAY... wait, no... NEW TIME OF DAY***
Yann quickly looked around in case they were going to be ambushed by a drunk, but the coast seemed clear and he slid inside, climbed the stairs and let Yuna again take the only chair. He gathered some writing paper and pens and then looked at her expectantly, as if he thought she was going to perform some intricate magic trick.

"Thank you." She said with a smile. Taking one of the writing utensils, she very carefully and precisely began to write out two lines of heiroglyphs: "That's all of them--the alphabet."

Yann stared at it, impressed that Yuna could remember all those little squiggly lines and circles. "It is beautiful," he whispered and almost reverently he took another pen and paper and tried to copy them, uncertain, if he wasn't worthy of making those glyphs because of who he was.

"Oh, yes. They're used in art, too, because they have more meaning than simply 'abc'. Each one is a symbol for more."
She watched him write a moment, then said,
"They're not easy at first, so don't worry if they aren't perfect the first time. It's...well, I once heard someone say it was more like drawing a picture than writing, and so some will be better at it than others."

"This makes writing a true art," he muttered while concentrating on drawing the letters. His fingers started to tingle, a sensation that traveled up his arm and made his whole body feel good. At first he didn't notice, too focused, but after a glyph or ten he took the pen from the paper and looked at his hand as if he expected it to be full of ants.

"That's really good for a first try," she said, sounding genuinely impressed.
"You could be fantastic at this if you practice."
She glanced at him, perhaps catching something off in his expression when she did as she frowned a little.
"Is something wrong?"

"I don't know if it's wrong... But it feels tingly in my... well, body by now. Is that supposed to happen?" The compliments would have made him blush if he wasn't so distracted by the other feeling.

Yuna blinked, then thought a moment.
"I don't know...when did it start?"
Vaguely, in the back of her mind, she wondered if maybe it was the onset of magical ability. But...could someone from this world have that?
She really didn't know.
