Scarlett had been here before, though only as she was now, a ghost. It had been during Isa's frequent trips to the shelter to treat the people that lived there. Scarlett had certainly known about the city's problems when it came to the downtrodden, but she'd never seen it quite this up close before.
Feeling a bit of sadness, and perhaps some of the psychic spill-over from so many souls in one place, Scarlett wandered about on her silent feet, exploring the place but not doing anything nosey like popping into occupied rooms.

*The girl had been adjusting well here. John was so supportive and for the first time she felt like she had a place. Like she was part of something. She bustled about her daily chores, content to stay busy and keep her head down. There was that man around, Mr. Dawson, and he always seemed too have too much company. It made her uncomfortable, but John had tried to help her with that too. It was a slow process.
So when the girl saw the redhead for the first time, she spooked a little, ducking away for a moment to catch her composure. Peeking back, she noticed the newcomer seemed...unattached. Normally these things associated with a person or place, but the redhead just seemed to be wandering around. And she was so sad. It ate at her until she finally forced herself out into the hallway. She gestured at the spirit to come towards her, while her gaze darted about nervously as if someone might catch her. She hurried into her room, hoping the spirit would know to follow her, but at the same time hoping it wouldn't.*

Scarlett stopped when the dark-haired lady appeared, and her eyes widened the woman looked right at her and then beckoned. She was so surprised that she didn't move for a moment, and then followed the woman upstairs.
She stood just inside the doorway, uncertain.
"You...can see me?" She asked, the surprise still evident.

*The girl nodded tightly, gesturing again that the redhead should come in. Her whisper was telling, she was obviously on edge about something.*
"Yes. Yes. If you could just..." *She gestured her in again, not wanting to shut the door on her.*
"The others..." *She started, as if to imply that their conversation would be better in private.*

With a slight tremor of excitement, she nodding, heading farther into the room.
"I didn't think...that anyone else could..." She said softly.

*The girl quickly shut the door behind her, turning back to the spirit with a shrug. Her voice remained soft.*
"They can't. At least, not most. That is, John might..." *Her fingers played against each other anxiously, as she wondered how to go about this. She tried to stay focused.*
"Was there someone...you're looking for?"

She smiled, trying not to let it look too sad.
"I'm usually with the nurse Isa. I've been searching for a way to return to life, but I haven't found anything so far. I was here mostly because I was curious about this place."

*The girl's brow furrowed as she listened the ghost's tale.*
"I don't know an Isa." *She confessed.* "But...why are you curious? It's not that unusual."
Except the owner has some odd abilities.

She stared at her hands as she spoke, twiddling her fingers.
"I...have nothing else to do, now. And I miss being around people."

"Oh." *The girl seemed kinda surprised at the thought. Most of the spirits she came in contact with were attached, so she'd never really considered that one might seek out the living.*
"Uh, well...there are lots of people here." *She offered, feeling a bit dumb after saying so.*

Scarlett glanced back up, offering a smile in an attempt to stay light-hearted, though her own sadness still slipped through.
"Yes. I'm glad I came, since I thought it would be like always and I'd simply drift like...er...well, a ghost."

"Well, I..." *She frowned for a moment, trying to figure out how to put it.* "Most of the...ghosts...I have met, they seem to...be with someone."
*She swallowed nervously and tucked her hair behind her ear.*
"I mean, I'm not really familiar with the wandering...well, I don't know what you're supposed to do."
"Sorry." *She added, rather awkwardly.*

She looked thoughtful for a moment.
"I think I'm here, for Isa. I don't know of much else that would keep me, well...the way I died, maybe."
Her face clouded over at the memory.
"It's his fault I'm like this."

*The girl's lips tightened. This was more familiar.*
"Who?" *She squeaked softly. At least if she could help the girl find the man, maybe she could get some closure.*

She shuddered, wrapping her arms around herself.
"He...he killed me." She said quietly.
