Amras had finished writing, just as the two emerged from the kitchen.
"Hey there."

"It is fine, it allowed me to write down the events of the day, as John has probably told you, I write quite a bit."
He smiled, unknowing of their conversation.

"Yeah...sounds like a journal."

John sat down across from Amras and inhaled deeply "He's got about 200 of them now."

"It is a journal of sorts yes, a record of interactions and thoughts on the subjects at hand. But it is also a place for my thought processes to do exactly that, process, it allows me to make the right decisions based upon logic and order. Although it does not always work."

"All right."
He couldn't understand wanting to do that--most of day-to-day life was rather uninteresting.
The thought of there being two hundred of these things made him wonder if Amras was a bit OCD.

((VERY))
Amras laughed "I have been writing them for almost 100 years after all."

"It is a long time for one to be writing with no real end in sight, yes" he laughed.

John chuckled "You'll find it" he looked up at the clock on the wall and sighed "I have to take Hazel to Isa's, and Marie's got an interview at a school."
He stood up "You two are welcome to join, but I assure you it's going to be horribly boring."

Amras nodded "I will join you" he stood "I was hoping to see Isa again before I went home."

He hesitated, recalling the offer John had once made to set it up so that he got voice lessons from Isa and wanting to see if it was still possible. At the same time, he felt that maybe he should let John have some time with Amras, since the man had traveled so far to see him.
"I...wouldn't be intruding, would I?"
