*It was good, she decided, to be back in Paris without a party to attend or a toddler to follow around--Evie was currently staying with the de Winters in Yorkshire. She was fast friends with their four-year-old daughter, Kat, who would be staying with them in a few weeks.*
*It was always hard, seeing David off to school, but he never gave any evidence of disliking it. They had come to Paris so that he could spend a week or so with Nicki before leaving.*
