And this, Ned set off immediately to do.
Clanging around the various cabinets and drawers, he finally found what he wanted on the kitchen counter. It had been there the entire time.

*Cal made a caricature of an expectant face, puckering her lips and squinting her eyes.*

Ned stole a sidelong glance in her direction and seized the object from the counter. His cheeks flushed, as he hastily tore away the plastic wrap from its container, and their lips made contact--sort of.

"So..."
Ned lowered the plastic wrap and laid it aside for the moment.

"So..."
The surge of adrenaline had slammed Ned right out of his drowsiness.
"...that was nice."

"That's usually not the desired response." *She teased, but the smile on her face suggested that she didn't much mind.*

"I'd imagine not," he agreed, breaking into a laugh towards the end of his statement.
The gentle rhythmic ticking of the clock made him look up and realize that it was nearing midnight.

*She laughed.*
"No, just sunlight. And fire. And silver is poisonous but won't actually kill us."

Ned opened his mouth to argue with her logic, but clamped it shut after realizing that, yeah, being alive had its weak points. Especially being alive when it seemed that everyone else around him was dead...or undead. His eyes fell involuntarily to his hands.
Being alive with inhuman powers was definitely another catch.
