"Of course it doesn't bother me! Talking to Adrian bothers me because he pretends he's so smart he doesn't understand layman's terms." *She exclaimed. Half the time she was gesturing vaguely and asking for 'that ...thing' or 'some stuff'. Half the reason she knew things was because she had methods for memorization that translated complicated input into tricks and abbreviations that she could actually comprehend.*

"Well," said Adrien, warming, "I just feel like sometimes you are just talking with me because... because it's me or Adrian, and I'm easier."

"No! I like talking to you!" *She insisted, and it was true.* "Half the time I'm just spouting nonsense that sounds smart; I only talk so much because I'm used to friends who interrupt me and talk over each other."

"Oh," said Adrien again, cheering, before the teakettle started to whistle. He hopped up to pour tea, but didn't stop the conversation just because of that. As he poured, he said, half-glancing over his shoulder at her, "Yeah, I'm used to my room-mates, but neither of them talks like you, and no one talks like Adrian. Like Danie just kind of says nonsense most of the time unless she's giving advice, and Seck doesn't say a lot. 'I think it's gonna rain, what do you think' - that kind of thing."

"My friends are just... loud. You have to wait for the right moment to start talking or else nobody will hear you."

"Opposite of mine. This enough tea? I mean. You can pour more water if you'd like."
He came back with something that passed for cream and sugar and a pair of spoons, then brought the mugs and sat back down.
"I wish Karnak were more.... interesting," he ventured, making it sound better than he had found it so far.
Veidt had been... wonderful, at times. He felt warm thinking about him, fond. But at others... And Adrien was very... bored.

"By that do you mean less dreadfully boring? All we do is sit around and think all the time."

"I don't do a lot of that," admitted Adrien glumly. "I was doing jigsaw puzzles but I don't know, I feel like Adrian is giving me this look when he sees me doing them."
((this should so lead to karaoke planning.))

((that is exactly what I was planning to bring up.))
"We should do something! I mean, Dan and Megan can't want to sit around and think or do puzzles. It's dismal. That, and Adrian probably comes in and mentally matches all the pieces and takes all the fun that a jigsaw puzzle may once have held."

"He does," said Adrien unhappily. "It takes him like two minutes. But, maybe he'll go into host-mode," he added hopefully, never a cynic with people.

"He probably has a formula, or some kind of spatio-visual intelligence advantage. That might not be a word."
*She thought for a moment, stirring sugar into her tea.* "Well, if he doesn't we'll have to take over."

Adrien perked up slightly, although not enough to hide the fact that the idea almost sounded mutinous.
"Likeeee wiiiiiith....?"

*She whacked the marble counter, but it just hurt her hand. "Ow!" *She retracted and cradled the wounded appendage.* "I've got it! We should have karaoke night!"

"You know; Karaoke! Sing songs that other people wrote, usually badly. Make fun of your friends when they do the same."
