*He sat down, took the paper and read it. Midst all the legal jargon, Chuck came upon this:*
With regard to Mr. Bass' personal assets, they will be put in a trust which Charles Batholomew Bass will have access to on his eighteenth birthday. As for Bass Industries, twenty-nine percent of the company will remain in the board's hands and a twenty percent stake in the company will be left to Lily Bass. Fifty-one percent, the controlling interest of the company, will be given to Charles Bass.
*Chuck read it over and over again. This wasn't right. It couldn't be right.*
"This isn't Bart. He wouldn't leave me his life's work," *he said, still holding on to the piece of paper despite his words.*

*The man sighed.*
"Whether or not you choose to believe it is your own decision. Given your relationship with your father," *He coughed a few times before recovering.* "his decision makes little sense--but love never does make sense."

*Chuck was still reeling from what he had read. But what he had read was real. The notary, his signature: the document was authentic.*
"You're telling me..." *he said slowly.* "That Jack bribed you to forge Bart's will. That you replaced my name with Jack's."
*His voice was quiet yet steely. He couldn't help but feel angry.*
"Why tell me? Why do it then tell me now?"

"Kid, I'll be dead in a year. Less, if liver disease sets in. I've done a lot that I regret in this life, and I've got my score to settle with whoever's waiting on the other side. Making sure you knew your father cared is one thing I could fix."

*Chuck stared at the piece of paper as he talked.*
"There is no other side," *he said, almost to himself.*

"You'll think a little differently when you're dying without ever having lived."

*Having heard enough, Chuck stood and tossed the piece of paper on his seat.*
"I think we're done here," *he said curtly, then turned to leave.*

**HORATIO**
"Just don't forget, kid. Love is the most important thing in this life, and it's never more clear than to those who haven't got any. It doesn't wait. Don't be as stupid as I was." *He broke into a fit of coughing.* "When someone loves you, you don't ask questions." *With that he left the room before Chuck did, out another door. The blonde woman was waiting on the other side to take him to go get his meds.*
