You couldn't see it at first, through the tree's, but it was blatantly obvious that they weren't exactly heading to an apartment. The school was situated somewhere between the estates of the rich and solitary, and the edge of town.
Once they finally made it to the school, Rogue smiled "The Xavier and-" she gulped "Lehnsherr home for Gifted Children" she hit the intercom "It's Rogue, I've got a hurt man here, bring a wheel chair" she let go of the button and then remembered something and hit it again and whispered "human."
And prayed Luxord hadn't heard her.

Luxord surveyed the estate with a relieved sigh through his heavy breathing. 'At this point I don't care if it has wheels on it as long as its a chair.' He caught Rogue's whisper but didn't quite catch what she had said. He shrugged it off (figuratively), and stored it away in the back of his mind with the other things he should ask about later.

Moments later the gates opened a very tall, large young man came walking out pushing a wheel chair, followed by a tall dark woman with white hair "Thank you Colo- Piotr" he nodded and offered the chair to Luxord. "Hey Ororo"
"Evening Rogue" the white haired woman replied and looked down over at Luxord with a calming smile.
"Have a seat" she smiled and Piotr, also known as Colossus pushed out his hand.

Luxord looked from the white haired woman to the extremely tall man with a smile that was almost a grimace. He had really wanted to keep a low profile until he managed to contact Xigbar (or they came looking for him once they ran out of stuff to do at the castle and Xigbar finished eating his stash of biscuits).
He steadied himself on the offered hand, being careful to thank the large man, and settled gratefully into the chair. He still leaned forward a little to be careful about his back. "You spoil me, Rogue," He said with a pained sigh, "You really do."

"Mr. Luxord, we barely jus' met an' I was quick to just accept you walking here. You are lucky that I happened along though, in this town, you would have been left there ta rot" She sighed, she was happy however that he had yet to turn out to be a creep.
In Rogue's mind, everyone was somehow a spy from the BOVM, and was there to use her in some way. It had happened so many times in the past, that any time she saw anyone in trouble that she didn't know, she wanted to leave them where they stand or lay or whatever.
She didn't want another Mystique in her life, she all ready had one.
Colossus turned the chair and started heading toward the school, Ororo, better known as Storm addressed Rogue "The Professor would of course like to meet uh-"
"Luxord" Rogue nodded.
"Luxord, he's indisposed at the moment however and has had a room set up for him and asks that we immediately take him to Jean."
Rogue wondered for a moment why Storm was telling her this and not Luxord who was sitting less than four feet away. But she knew the answer all ready, Luxord was a human, and if Storm could get away with not having to address one, she'd give it her all.
'But still it's kind of rude.'
"And with that, I must take my leave, I've got a class starting in 10 minutes and my students have complained that I have been late all week." Storm nodded to Rogue and smiled at Luxord as she came up beside him "It was nice meeting you sir, I hope you find the Institute comfortable for your stay."

"Likewise, and I am sure I will be very comfortable, dear lady," He gently clasped Storm's hand briefly and watched her walk away until she was out of sight. There was something rather strange about this place. It was a gorgeous foundation and he could easily picture himself staying her for an extended visit.
But Storm's rather cold disposition towards him and Rogue's whispered words at the gate had him thinking. And when they first approached the gates Rogue had told him it was called the school for gifted children. His first thought was that the school was either a school for extraordinarily intelligent children or that they all were... had special needs.
He shot down the second thought, because Rogue and Piotr seemed to have rather good heads on their shoulders but they didn't exude "genius" either. There was something that he was missing... He would have to keep his eyes open during his visit.
He turned to Rogue who was walking by his side as Piotr wheeled him towards the estate, "So this institute is a school? If so it is quite a grand one."

"Professor Xavier is a great man, it's a higher learning institute for really special kids, not you know" she looked around and crossed her eyes "you know? But smart kids, with special... abilities, ones that other kids there age don't posses."
"He built this school, so that those kids had a place where those gifts can grow, where as a normal school would only inhibit them."

"Special abilities huh...?" Luxord pondered this for a moment or two, then grinned, "I'm going to venture a guess and say that you aren't talking about card tricks or an innate ability to play the trombone." He lowered his voice, "I suppose then, that its probably a big secret or you would have already told me what makes these children so special."
Perhaps later on after a good sit down and some time to heal he would show Rogue his kind of card trick. But that was a show for another time.

Rogue swallowed softly and looked up at Colossus "It's really just for smart kids" with that they came in to the building and started heading for Jean's lab.
"In school hospital, were lucky" she smiled and opened the door.
**LATER**
Rogue leaned against the door of the lab and waited for Luxord to roll out.

Luxord pushed the door open with his foot and rolled himself out feeling ages better. He had been given a cooling salve to help with his back and all of his wounds were cleaned and dressed as well. His torn robe was replaced, and was apparently sent to be fixed. He tried to tell Ms. Jean she could just throw it away, after all Luxord would get a replacement as soon as he got back anyway but she insisted.
He looked up and smiled at Rogue. The pained shadow had gone from his face and he now had an amused glint to his eye, knowing that he looked vaguely like a mummy with the amount of bandaging he had wrapped around his head and under the plain white shirt and pants that he was now wearing.
"You waited for me? So kind!"

"Actually I went to the cafeteria and grabbed a cup of coffee and a scone" she offered him a bag with another scone "got one for you two, once I realized that you'd have no idea where you were going once she was done. Jean isn't one for, touring."
She smiled "Follow me, I'll show you where you room is."

He accepted the scone with flourishing hands, "Ah, scones," he took a hungry bite, fighting the temptation to immediately stuff it down his throat, "Delicious!" He smiled and began to wheel himself down the hall with the scone back in his lap, "Kind, thoughtful, generous, and not a bad sight to see either. Have I stumbled upon a dream in you?" He turned his head to look back at her, his head only half turned.

"Sorry fella, that kinda talk ain't gonna do you no good with me, I've heard it all" she laughed, he was charming, she'd give him that. But more than once had Remy tried those lines and failed, well at least she let him think he had failed.
Playing hard to get was necessary, when you couldn't touch people.
"But it's a nice compliment."

Luxord sighed dramatically, "Ah, so hard to please. But I do enjoy a challenge. Its no fun unless your opponent knows how to play the game as well, after all." Luxord chuckled. He was becoming more awake by the moment and didn't think he really wanted to be trapped in a room. "You know," he said in an innocent tone, "It is a rather nice day out. Instead of me resting in some dreary but more than likely well decorated and accommodating room, why don't we take our scones to the garden and enjoy the weather?"
He put his hands up innocently, "That is if you have nothing else to do?"

Rogue thought of training exorcises she was running with some of the students later and the papers on her desk she had to clean up and- "No I don't have anything to do, but at least let me show you where your room is?"
She smiled, he sure could talk this one, but whether or not there was anything under the surface was a whole nother matter.
