Beethoven sat up, patting at his pockets a moment before pulling out...a Deutsche Mark.
"Hmmm. Well, that won't work."

Beethoven slowly struggled to his feet. Since was the more mobile of the two of them at the moment, he felt he must be the one to try.
"Aye, let's see, then."
Wobbling, he went back out to the living room, holding out the deutsche mark to Furley.

Feeney, who could hear the conversation from his spot in the kitchen, gave a snort of amusement that probably wasn't audible over Beethoven's loudness.

Furley stared at it and took it quickly "Make sure ta have the rent in FRANCS next time" he shook his head at them and put the mark in his pocket before leaving the house.
