Sephiroth had managed to understand the directions enough to find the place that Yuna had gotten out of some passersby on the street, leading the way, mostly in silence. Being the imposing figure he was, most people stayed out of their way, which was wise.
After a few negotiations on a room, and Sephiroth reminding the owner that they were still paying in a precious metal, a room for two was procured, and Sephiroth given the keys.
...and as he opened the door, Sephiroth's stern features fell into a dark frown. "...No. Just no."
Apparently the best the owner could do was a room for two people who slept together, and apprently thought that the pair of young people traveling together were a couple.

When Sephiroth abruptly halted in the doorway, Yuna had to strain to see around him (the man was ridiculously tall).
"What..."
She finally saw it, though a space between his arm and the door.
"Oh." She said, turning red.

Sephiroth entered first, keys still hanging from his fingers. Well, there was a sofa he could occupy should the need to sleep overtake him - arguing menial points with the host staff was unattractive, even if killing someone for sheer stupidity would make him feel better.
"The bed is yours," he said, gesturing as he walked past it toward the rest of the suite. Nothing seemed rigged, or trapped. The room seemed ridiculously safe. "I don't see anything else wrong with the room," he announced shortly after, assessing that the place was exactly as it appeared.
Not being a man of many words, Sephiroth sat himself on the couch and watched the young woman, though not like normal men would. He was evaluating her as a potential threat or useful ally.

"Thank you," she said, walking in and letting her gaze wander about.
It was certainly nice, with a rustic charm, and well-maintained. Finally having a place to put it, she paused by the nightstand and leaned the staff against the wall. She would pick it back up when she left the room again.
She sat on the bed, testing the fluffiness and finding it rather cozy.
"So far, so good." She said. It was small talk, but she wasn't sure what else to say. What kind of conversation did you have with a broody dark warrior type?

Sephiroth watched the girl move about, not a lecherous thought in his head. Rather, that was for certain other SOLDIERS. Zack Fair came to mind, as Yuna seemed to be his type - she was young, pretty, and, well, alive.
The staff she carried reminded him of the flower girl... was Yuna like Aerith, or was it merely a coincidence? Too much to consider right now, he'd just have to wait and see what she was really like, under the cute exterior. After all, people thought Sephiroth was beautiful (the daily fanmail confirmed this) and he was nothing short of a demon.
"You seem well adjusted to being in strange places," he said finally, able to strike some sort of conversation. "Though I can tell you're far from a military type."

"I guess I do adapt well." She said, thoughtfully.
"I think maybe it's because I traveled a lot back in Spira--there were so many different, exotic places in it...you had things like the Thunder Plains next to Macalania Woods..." Her eyes grew distant for a moment, recalling the splendour of the forest before coming back to the present.
"And there were plenty of large cities like Paris...Bevelle..."

"Sounds nice," said Sephiroth, though it was fairly... emotionless. The places she listed did not ring a bell, not even in historical documentation. How then, can they be from the same game series?!
"The cities I have been around were more industrial than this. Midgar was built above the slums; the rich were literally above the poor. Even small towns have an equally small amount of technology... Paris would fall somewhere between 'small town' and 'major city'..." he said, resting his chin against his fist, arm of the same propped on the back of the couch. He kept his coat on, seeing no reason to bother dressing down. The leather coat was perfectly comfortable anyway.

Her brow knitted a bit at the description of Midgar. It didn't sound very welcoming, but she really couldn't judge without actually seeing it.
"Hmm. Bevelle is spread out--there's no separation by, um, class. There isn't a lot of technology in Spira. For the longest time, the use of Machina was banned." Her thoughts inevitably turned to Yevon, but she quickly left that behind.
"The only ones who had machina were the Al Bhed, who found a way to repair and keep the machines in working order. Oh, Bevelle had some of the forbidden technology, but it was an exception to the rule."

"Machina... machinery?" Sephiroth 'hmphed. "Midgar is nothing but. The military I worked for was a branch of a technologies and sciences corporation, specializing in everything from making household appliances to human exp---..." Sephiroth stopped and cleared his throat, realizing that the hand he'd kept loose in his lap was tightened so badly his arm shook. Opening his fist with a creak of leather, he changed his train of thought slightly.
"I don't think ShinRa's military could have worked very well trying to transport heavily armed troops by Chocobo." He snorted a moment, recalling what he'd said to Midna in the Foyer. "Which reminds me... I'm looking for someone..."

Although her own world had recently began to adopt Machina since the collapse of Yevon, Yuna still found it hard to imagine a place that used nothing but. What was such a city like?
She smiled at the mention of chocobos.
"We have those in Spira! Chocobos, I mean. They did carry knights on their backs in the calvary."

Surprised at another, if unusual, similarity between their worlds, Sephiroth gave Yuna a good look-over before going on. She was too excited to just be making it up.
"They're just used for racing, primarily. Or single-rider transport over terrain that is difficult for machines to navigate. Some of them even run on water."
What an odd way to carry conversation... he thought, but it could have been worse. She could have been really annoying.

Yuna found it rather fascinating, that their different worlds had such similarities.
"We use them for that, too, though racing chocobos isn't as big of a sport as Blitzball is."

"Blitzball?" he asked, amused by the unusual word. "What kind of sport is that?" He could only speculate.
His friends, the very, very few that he had, were interested in animals and theatre. Admittedly, Sephiroth claimed no interests other than books, and putting up with his friend's interests to keep them. The friends. Who were now dead anyway.

"Oh, blitzball is a lot of fun! I'm not much good at myself, but some of the athletes are amazing." She said animatedly.
It made her think of Wakka, and then Tidus, but thinking of Tidus melted her smile a little bit. It still hurt to think about him.
