"...do you have a fetish, sir? I did not realize."

A fetish? What was this man on about?!
"Well, are you going to tell me whether there's a bloodsucker in need of staking here or what?"
Yager was getting a bit impatient with this guy and his fancy wording.

"A bloodsu- " Mercutio's brow wrinkled in astonishment. "What are you on about, man? A... a lamia, a fairy? Has Queen Mab developed some particularly grisly characteristics since the last time I'd heard?"

Lamia? Fairy? Queen Mab?
What was this guy ON about?!
"I'm talking about vampires. Nosferatu, wampyr... any of this ringing any bells whatsoever?"

Mercutio looked at him a little blankly. "I'm Italian. Lamia. Bloodsucking women, yeah? Those're fairytales, Yager, I do so hate to inform you your nanny lied."

"Actually, a lot of them are men. I rather dislike the women, they have a nasty habit of being well-endowed in the chest-department... it gets in the way of the stake," Yager confided before realizing the fairytale-bit.
"Fairytales? Oh no, not by a long shot I fear. I've hunted them all my life, so I'm a bit of an authority in this area."

"I would show you some, but I wouldn't be able to guarantee your safety."
Yager shrugged, he didn't really care whether the man believed him or not... if he ever came face to face with one it would probably be teeth to neck in seconds, nothing Yager could do about it.

Mercutio continued to look at him, smirking a little, as though he'd decided to humor him but was still very amused by the entire idea of it. "No, that's unnecessary, my blood's completely satisified with where it is at the moment. But, uh, aren't they supposed to be really stupid?" He was thinking of lamias again, the stupid, blood-sucking boogiemen of many boys' childhoods.

"No, they can be really intelligent. Of course it differs, just like it does with humans. After all, they were human once."
Honestly, some people could be so dense... and about such a vital matter too. Perhaps a vampire-awareness plan could be started?

"Hum." Mercutio looked briefly thoughtful about this piece of information, then disregarded the entire subject as nothing he was really interested in because the other man was obviously a little off. If there were really blood-sucking monsters strolling the streets of Europe, Mercutio would have heard about them by now.

"So I take it this is a "no" on the whole vampire in the ensemble business?"
Well, it never hurt to make sure... at least, so people said. Yager had actually hurt himself quite often while making sure of things.

"Uh...right. That's a no."

"Well, that's good then," Yager said, in spite of looking a bit disappointed.
"I'm here to relax, after all... see the show... can't work all the time, right?"

"Yeah. Right. Work. Soul-draining, and all that." Mercutio ran a hand over his hair, thoughtful-like. "I'm just going to run along and coerce someone into giving me carcinogens, but you enjoy the show. Oh, but hey- " And here Mercutio leaned in closer, one hand cupped about his mouth. "There is this one girl... watch for her, she's the tall stricken-looking one who appears to have been sucking on a lemon all of her life. Russian. Give 'er a shot, will you? She is so awfully stern- and her eyes, they blaze like anything. Maybe you should talk to her about vampires."
