He'd made his slow, rambling way home, unable to keep his thoughts from constantly homing in on what had just happened. He should have known, should have realized, that things were building up to this. The easy way they seemed to have with each other, the almost-flirtatiousness...how could he have missed it? When finally reached home, he still didn't have any answers .

**NEW DAY... SAME PROBLEM**
Jesse sucked up his gut and gathered his the bag of groceries in his hand and knocked on the door. He found out Christian had been staying there from a friend of his at the opera house. Clearing his throat he waited for Christian to answer.

Christian had been practicing an aria from the new production at the little theater he worked at, and almost didn't hear the knock. He did, barely, and paused to answer the door.
"Oh...hello, Jesse." He still felt conflicted thanks to what he'd witnessed of the man previously, and there was some uncertainty in his voice.

Jesse smiled "I hope you haven't eaten dinner yet" he shook the bag of groceries "as way of an apology I, wanna make you dinner."

The uncertainty melted a bit at Jesse's response.
"I haven't, no...that'd be wonderful."

Jesse smiled and moved in to the house with Christian "You like steak?"

He was smiling as he closed the door after Jesse.
"Sure do."
He quirked an eyebrow.
"Cowboy cooking steak...who would've thought..." he teased.

"Well, you just have different things you're good at. People that aren't good at it will have praise for it."

Jesse smiled and pulled out the meat and seasoning and potatoes "Sorry I bought a lot, I used to cook for a big family, ain't used to just cooking for two yet."
He thought about Diana for a second and shook her off, tonight he wasn't going to let her in. She was at the hospital, he was with his friend, she knew where he was, everything was fine.
"Okay, I need two pots one for the potato's one for the pasta and a pan for the steaks."

"Oh, that's all right...but take some left-overs with you, so it doesn't go to waste. I'd never be able to eat all of that."
He walked into the kitchen, opening up the cabinet that was filled with pots and pans.
"Here's all the cookware. Knives and forks are in this drawer over here."

((Just to let you know, sometime during this thread, Christian is going to get a call from the hospital to tell Jesse that Diana's gone in to labor.))
"Great, and of course" he grabbed what he needed and began to prepare, cutting the fat from the steaks and seasoning it "so, whatchu been up to?"

"Practicing for a new production." He said brightly.
