*With pursed lips, he read more then pocketed the note, mostly to see what she would say.*

*She raised an eyebrow, catching it right away.* "You realize there are far more interactive ways for you to release urges?" *She clapped a hand over her mouth as soon as it was out.* "You heard nothing. I didn't say that."

*Chuck just looked impressed.*
"For your information, I have never flown solo," *he clarified.* "Nor have I ever had to."

"I don't doubt it; you could seduce a lamppost." *She said dryly, in a manner that was slightly self-deprecating.*

"I'll take that as a compliment," *he said with a crooked grin.*

*She rolled her eyes, looking for a certain set of letters between her grandparents.* "My ancestors weren't all harlots and rakes; there were my grandparents, who had the most ridiculously chaste, Romeo and Juliet love anyone could possibly imagine; I know the letters are around here somewhere..."

"R and J were not chaste. They were both horny teenagers," *he pointed out.*

"Yeah, but they got married before doing anything beyond kissing." *She reminded him.* "If the University of Paris ever starts accepting women I'm going into Shakespeare studies." *She continued to rifle through boxes."
"Hah!" *Having found the letters, she cried out triumphantly. She pulled out the first one.* "Vicomte Gerard d'Enjolras to Suzanne d'Aubin, dated July 12, 1827."

"The originator of the modern emo kid. Simple Plan would be thankful."
*He took one of the letters and read it.*
"I love you... I love you... I'll love you forever..." *he read out loud in a monotone voice.* "Boring. Please don't tell me it's your dream to read one of those."

"It was far more romantic when I was ten years old, okay?"
*She read one over and cringed.*
"Dear god, I might throw up. They're so... attached, so dependent. Like their entire lives revolve around nothing else."

"They say love's only a chemical reaction in the brain that lasts three years. Apparently, theirs lasted a bit longer..." *he said with a grimace. The idea of true love wasn't entirely attractive to him. At least, he didn't think it was.*

"Fifty-eight years with one person... is a really long time." *She said, looking up and meeting his eyes, laying the letter to the side.* "I can barely think past the summer."

"I don't think we're able to think farther than that," *he said, leaning in and laying down on his side. He propped himself up with his elbow.*

*She moved so that she was on her stomach, parallel to him. She looked over.*
"But... I don't think we need to."
*And for the first time, it was she who leaned in to kiss him.*

*While he was genuinely surprised by the kiss, his expression stayed for the most part unchanged as he returned the kiss.*
"Really?" *he asked, an eyebrow raising with intrigue.*
