*The kids that were left in the tub seemed happy enough to be bathed. The ones outside watched quietly, and in the case of those that had been removed from the water, started to shiver slightly as their damp skin chilled.*

As nifty as he was, Cry-Baby couldn't think or do everything at once. He would have to be content with washing the kids in the tub as quickly as he could, and hoping Kris had clothes and stuff for them.
The first set completed, he helped them out and dried them off briskly before helping the next set into the tub, repeating the process.

Almost as if she'd read his mind--and perhaps she had, or at least the thread--Kris popped in with a pile of variously-colored shirts and pants and socks and underthings.
"Clothes," she announced. Cry-Baby, she thought, was doing abnormally well with this. "Want me to start dressing them?"
Cry-Baby nodded, with a "thanks," and Kris got to work, not bothering to match the kids up with specific clothes. They were all pretty much the same, after all--and the best she could do.

*The kids squirmed through the process, apparently a bit put off by the dressing, the foreignness of that sort of constriction, but they were over all quiet and well-behaved. The triplets shoved each other a bit, though no moreso than normal, tugging at the new garments on each others bodies. Kit seemed quiet infatuated with the towel she was being dried with and grabbed it tightly, unwilling to give it up at the moment.*

Cry-Baby surveyed the lot with satisfaction. Still a mess, but less of one.
He couldn't bring himself to think about doing this every day. Not yet.
Kris had the cat-girl occupied, finally letting Kit have the towel which seemed to distract her while she got her clothes on.
"So," Cry-Baby said. "Who's sleepy?"

*It took a moment for the children to settle, all stilling and looking up to Cry-Baby. Finally, Killian spoke softly, question in his expression.*
"Is that the proper order to things?"

Cry-Baby thought about that for a minute. It was, or seemed like it, but it wouldn't be honest of him to say that's how things had to work. On the other hand, he'd need them to all be sleeping at the same time.
"Well," he began, "ain't always. Mostly eatin's for when you're hungry, an' sleeping for when you're tired, and bathin' for when you're dirty. But most of the world sorta operates on the same schedule, so it's more convenient I guess to eat an' sleep when other people are." He shrugged. "Otherwise, you miss everyone else." Of course, there were benefits, for example, to being awake at night when no one else was about. And he wasn't about to say that the arbitrary scheduling of school was something he valued.
"You know what bein' tired feels like?"

*Killian shut his eyes at the question (the others following suit in short order). He seemed to be deep in thought for a moment, then opened them once more to Cry-Baby.*
"Yes. Although it was...softer." *He seemed unsure if that was the word he was looking for, but his small hand lifted to stroke his chest gently.*

"Softer," Cry-Baby repeated. "How d'you mean?"

*Killian frowned for a moment, shutting his eyes again and tilting his head, as if resting it on something. Then, softly at first, came a gentle song. After a little while, it was recognizable as one of the lullabies that Brandi used to sing. The other children shut their eyes, waiting only a moment before Gavyn piped up with a different song, overlapping the first. One by one, they all joined in, singing the different tunes that their caregivers had sung over them or cradling them, rock and roll laced with Gaelic, hillbilly and Brahms, all stacking in an ever-growing mass of discordant notes.*

Cry-Baby, confused at first, beamed when he realized what they were doing. So the little scamps too after him, did they?
But soon the discord become more disturbing, more difficult to listen to, and Cry-Baby touched the side of Killian's face gently, as if to get his attention and stop them, interesting as it was.

*Killian's eyes shot open at the touch, immediately quieting. The silence gradually spread through the ranks, each stilling and refocusing their attention on Cry-Baby. Killian's brows lifted.*
"Perhaps we might manage better, if we were to have that. Something familiar."
*It had been a long day for all of them.*

Cry-Baby smiled in a way not at all fitting to his bad-boy image--but he'd never been one to live by an image, and "bad boy" had only ever been part of who he was anyway.
"I can do that," he said. Killian was talking much better now. Prettier than him, really. "I'd like to. You guys come with me, an' we'll get you tucked in and lullabyed in no time."

*Killian led the posse in tow, pausing briefly as if remembering something.*
"Thank you." *He said dutifully. Once to their room, each crawled up in their respective beds, except the triplets. They squirmed about, all trying to fit in one bed.*

Kris looked up, just having finished arranging things so that there was one enormous room--for now.
Cry-Baby moved to the triplets' chosen bed. "Don't think you'll all fit," he said conversationally, wondering which was better, to separate them or give them a bigger bed. Was it even his problem? "You think you can sleep in your own beds?" he asked, but with a hint of command.
