"What--oh. Oh!"
*Breaking out into a huge grin, he sprinted to the door, hollering for servants, a doctor.*

*It took entirely too long for said doctor to arrive, and by the time he did Marianne looked very pale and was moaning every time a contraction hit. She lay helpless on the bed, somehow feeling as if something was going to go horribly wrong.*

*The doctor was working as best he could, though unfortunately it looked as though there'd be complications.
Several servants, in the meantime, were having a lot of trouble keeping Marc calm. Marianne wasn't doing very well, and he hated the fact that he couldn't do anything about that.

*And in truth, she wasn't. But she'd pull through it, just barely, like she just barely pulled through all the other hardships in her life. If she just concentrated on getting through this...*

**BIRTH IN**
*Twins. They hadn't been expecting twins, but it was a pleasant surprise--a boy and a girl. The doctor gave the new parents stern admonishments about Marianne: moving carefully, taking care, keeping an eye on her and the health of the children.
Once the doctor was done, Marc and Marianne were finally left alone, Marc hovering near his wife*
"How are you?"

*She smiled weakly.*
"Tired." *She replied honestly.* "A little afraid of what you'll name our children if I go to sleep." *With that a smile crept onto her face.*

*He chuckled*
"I promise, nothing outgrageous."

"Mm, as long as you don't name them Ethelfride and Hilda, or anything along those lines..." *She pondered it for a moment, looking at them. Downy dark hair, and pink flushed cheeks, sleeping soundly... they were absolutely perfect. Was it even possible for her to have created something so wonderful? For them to have done so? She looked up at him.*
"What do you think about Olivier for the boy? I've always liked that name..."
*Her mother had always liked that name. She said if she ever had a son... but she hadn't. Her mother, her lovely wonderful mother had wasted away like a plant without sunshine, and only now did Marianne fully realize that it had been her father's fault. Now, however, perhaps Marianne could honor her mother by at least naming her grandson the name she'd favored.*

"I think Olivier would be perfect. Olivier Desmarais..."
*He looked thoughtful for a moment*
"What about Amélie, for her?"

*Marianne smiled.*
"I'd like that."

"Olivier and Amélie Desmarais..."
*Outside the door, there was a commotion, and then a servant popped her head into the room*
"Oh! It's the other misses--she's having her baby right now!"
*Then away again she went. Marc stared at the door for a moments*
"Children and now a sibling..." He said, sounding dazed.

*She smiled gently.*
"They'll all grow up like siblings."

*He smiled back*
"That would be wonderful."
*He was still feeling a bit odd, but chalked it up to the excitement of the day.*

"Would you like to hold her and give her Scarlet Fever?" *She asked, offering him their daughter. Her arms were getting tired.*

"I wou--"
*Suddenly, a wave of dizziness hit him, and he braced himself against the mattress to keep from losing balance*
"...that came out of nowhere."
