*Brandi appreciated the girl's eagerness.*
"All right. The laundry is at the end of the hall when you turn left out of this room. I'll get a list of the rooms that need to be made up. And after..."
*She smiled.* "You're free to go about as you wish, should you like to go into town."

((Back!))
"Okays, then. I'll go get the laundry!" Oddly enough, for all her egotistical nature, when it came down to it, Mimic could actually do work. She just heavily preferred managerial tasks.
"Oh? Golly, thanks!" Well, I would hope so!

((I haven't forgotten this, I promise. I just haven't been around. But I'll get back to it when I'm back in town.))
*Brandi nodded, smoothing her skirts.*
"There's something I need to check on real fast, but please take your time with breakfast. If I'm not back before you're done, everything you should need will be down in the laundry room." *She smiled softly.*
"And thank you. I appreciate it."

**NEW DAY**
There had been quite a bit of weirdness lately, what with Fenris' spontaneously turning human (and back to puppy) and the Children of War suddenly becoming older. Thus, it would probably come as no surprise that one morning the puppy Fenris woke up as the adult Husky Fenris.
It wasn't at all strange to him. His mind, along with his body, seemed to have matured, and the now grown-up dog was spending this new phase of his life keeping an eye on the foyer.

Sirius was growing, too, but not quite at the same rate. Now a gangly puppy, he was surprised therefore to find an adult dog in the foyer, who smelled like Fenris but only looked a little bit like him.
He stopped short at the sight of him, cocking his head. He wondered if Fenris could talk now. Sirius had been getting better at that, the words coming more easily in his mind. As he grew, he also seemed to feel an odd pull, as if something he could not see or smell or touch was calling to him. It was sometimes an annoyance, but most often he ignored it. If he thoughts were slightly more abstract than a dog's usually were, he would have no way of knowing.
Fenris?

Fenris bobbed his head yes.
He eyed Sirius curiously. He'd been wondering if the other pup that had arrived had grown, too. Sirius had grown, but not to the extreme Fenris had.

Don't you talk?
Kiba did, and the cats about did, and even if the humans didn't communicate like them he was learning to understand their sounds better.

Fenris understood speech completely, now, and was starting to wish he could make words like everyone else. He slowly shook his head, his eyes conveying his disappointment at this.

Well, that was odd, but all right, Sirius supposed. There were all kinds of dogs, weren't there?
And you're not human, he clarified, still confused by that one time in the kitchen.

He shook his head. He didn't know just what he was, exactly. He wasn't like Kiba or Tsume, and he wasn't exactly a werewolf, either. If only he could ask questions.
He huffed in frustration. If he was in that other form, he might be able to say things. But he seemed unable to make that happen on purpose.

Sirius felt bad, suddenly, for asking the dog something he clearly couldn't answer, though he hadn't thought about it before. He trotted up and wagged his tail gently in apology, nosing Fenris' nose as if to indicate they were still friends.

Fenris touched noses with Sirius, giving the dog equivalent to a grin along with a tail wag. He didn't mind--Sirius could understand him, and that made things not-so-bad.

Sirius was still learning the language of dogs, the signals and hierarchies and Fenris growing up so quickly--more quickly than Sirius, that is--threw things out of balance. Fenris was clearly larger and stronger than he, now. Did that put him higher? Did he have to act differently? He decided, for now, not to change anything, though his behavior might be a little more neutral, to avoid potential confrontation.

Fenris, for his part, wished he knew of some other medium that he could communicate with, one that he could use in his dog form. It would be wonderful if such a thing existed.

Well. This was difficult, knowing the dog had something to say, but unable to draw it out. Sirius wondered if he was the odd one out, but he knew no other dogs. Kiba didn't count--Kiba was a wolf, and could make himself look like a man, and that was clearly different. But Fenris could look like a human thing, too. Again, that made Sirius wonder if there was something wrong with him.
