*Helen looked at Kiba. The mere thought of him fighting Menelaus and his troops made her shudder. Not for Menelaus' part, for all sake. But she was afraid... to loose.... KIBA!!! Her eyes widened in surprise when she noticed she was starting to feeling weak for the wolfman. She blushed deeply and lowered her eyes, afraid he might discover what she felt.*

Tsume was in the middle of eating a white-ish bird, having caught it after purposefully missing it twice, but upon hearing Kiba's howl he picked it up and headed back.
"You know Kiba, I would've only been a few more minutes..." A look at the three of them--the white wolf in particular--made him stop. "What? You look like you're about to kill something. We tracking him down?"
"Not yet," Kiba told him. "I need you to help with a plan."

*Brandi's eyes narrowed as the girl blushed. A blusher herself, it wasn't that hard to read. She pursed her lips for a moment.*
"So you like him?" *She asked, once the wolf had left to retrieve his companion.*

*Helen looked up at Brandi, her eyes sad.*
"I don't know yet. It is to soon to say. I only know that he confuses me. In his human form... which is nothing more than an illusion. As a wolf, I like him as a protector. He means safety."

"So, what are we doing about that guy?" Tsume asked. "Besides killing him."
"We need to keep him away from the territory," Kiba answered. "Or at least make sure he doesn't get too far. There are pups and human kids in the building."
"I was wondering why all the scents were around," he remarked. "What if he has reinforcements? I ran into a couple of things called vampires--they were annoying as hell, but they could smell and hear as well as I did. If he hires them and they end up stronger than us, it doesn't look too good."
"They won't be," Kiba answered. "They think like humans. Once they know we mean to kill them, all the strength in the world won't help. The hybrid I met would have submitted to Toboe with how scared he was of me."
"Even then, we should be careful." Tsume dropped his disguise, digging a hole and then burying the remains of the bird in it for later. She likes you, he informed Kiba as he covered it with dirt.
Kiba left off his disguise as well, shaking his fur out before sitting down. I heard her. Why do I always attract different species?
You didn't care that Cheza wasn't a wolf, Tsume pointed out.
Of course not!
She's got light hair and eyes, she wears white, and you're protecting her. Humans call that "rebound," Tsume grinned.
She's not a replacement! Kiba snapped, glaring in additional warning, and Tsume averted his eyes and crouched down. After Kiba returned to normal, he straightened up and resumed his human form.
"So, our plan: Keep him away from the territory, kill everything involved as soon as possible, and then we're done?"
"Yes."

*Brandi nodded knowingly.*
"Of course. And that's why you blush at the thought of him. Because of his protectiveness." *She answered sarcastically, but let the subject go. Idly, she picked up the rag from under the counter, wiping it down. She didn't want to go anywhere until she knew what the plan was. Any plan that involved Helen would influence her by default. She needed details.*

*Helen blushed again and looked down.*
"Nobody has ever protected me like this before."
*She replied in her broken English. She told the truth. Menelaus, brave as he had been, had mostly left her alone in the palace, with only female servants to keep her company. Paris had been goodlooking, but he was a poor soldier. He hadn't been capable of even defending himself from Menelaus. Kiba and Tsume had fought bravely, and she had to admire the effective ways they fought.
She stayed with Brandi, waiting for the two wolfmen to return. She too was eagerly awaiting what they had found out. If there was any plan, she would have to cooperate, to not ruin anything.*

Right...that whole Trojan army thing...they certainly didn't fight hard to protect you. Whatever.
*But Brandi managed to bite her tongue and nod.*
"You're lucky to have him." *She didn't look up from her cleaning.*

"By the way, who's she?" Tsume asked upon returning to the front of the building. "The other one. Is she the alpha?"
"Her name's Brandi," Kiba answered. "She wouldn't back down when I tried to take over. I guess I underestimated her."
"Man, you've mellowed out," he said. "Beta to a human? You'd have just killed her before you met us."
"Humans aren't bad," Kiba admitted. "Most of them just don't make sense."
"Don't I know it," Tsume answered.
"I'll tell her the plan." Kiba walked up to Brandi. "We'll keep watch to make sure he doesn't find out where we are. If he does and he gets too close to the building, I'll head him off and kill him. Tsume will stay here just in case."
"What?! You said we were both heading him off!" Tsume demanded, barging in front of him. "What if he gets help from those vampire things or some other freaks of nature? We don't know how strong they are!"
"I changed my mind," Kiba growled, tensing up again. "You'll stay here."
After failing to out-glare him again, Tsume backed down with a scoff. "If I knew all it took was everyone dying to screw you up again, I'd have let you drag me into Paradise."

*Brandi's eyes hardened as the plan was explained, looking much more the tried fighter, and less like the genial inn keeper. She pursed her lips, thinking over the situation.*
"Very well. But you know what is at risk here. There is nothing I would not do to protect my investments." *She glanced to the ceiling, implying the children above.*
"Do what you must, but understand, if something goes wrong, I will do what is required of me."
Helen is your responsibility, not mine.

*Helen listened to the plan as well, surprised over the way the inn-keeper suddenly looked more like a tried fighter than an inn-keeper. She had seen enough war to see the difference. She didn't comment on it. The inn-keeper's personal life was her own business, and Helen didn't know her well enough to ask in a way that sounded polite.*
"Is there anything I can do to help?"
*She asked humbly, in her broken English.*

"You know what I told you," Kiba said, relaxing slightly.
"If you know any healing tricks, we're gonna need them," Tsume spoke up.
"Healing tricks?" he asked.
"Like when you took on that other pack and lost," Tsume responded. "Toboe helped you out, remember?"
"That, too," Kiba agreed.

Helen listened to the conversation between Kiba and Tsume. It seemed to surprise her that Kiba could lose to someone. He looked so strong. It was hard to imagine him losing a fight. She blushed and looked over at Kiba.
"I am only a mortal woman. I do not know any magic, like the gods do. But I lived in a war-torn country. I am trained in taking care of wounds, by the use of herbs and plants. I know how to bandage wounds, and even stitch up deep cuts. I know how to remove an arrowhead from a body. I can also brew some tea that can take away fever. If that is helpful enough, I am willing to help."

"Sounds good," Tsume smiled. "The moon will take care of whatever you can't help."

Helen looked at Tsume, clearly not understanding.
"The moon? In what way?"
