(('cuz really, that's who it belongs to now))
*When arrived from the Hofburg, he found his daughter sitting in shadow on the couch, slouched down as though trying to hide. She was expecting a lecture or something...but really, he only wanted the situation cleared-up.
He sighed*
"Treszka...what was all that about? And don't pretend you don't know what I mean."

"Ehhh..."
*She really didn't want to explain, mostly because her stomach was in knots from her trying to sort out how she felt about Tony.*
"It was just as it looked--he wanted to see Teleute."

*He moved around the couch, the better to speak face-to-face. Of course, she wasn't meeting his eye*
"There's more to it than that. Don't insult my intelligence."

Argh.
"I...I only followed him because I could sense his brush with death. Then we just...just started talking and it somehow all came rushing out and dad I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to, it just happened! I got freaked and wasn't thinking."

*He crossed his arms, that all-too familiar gesture of his*
"I fail to see how talking to your brother in-law is enough to freak you out."

*There was no way she was going to tell him that Tony had hurt her, or that they'd been yelling at each other previous to him coming in. That would get Tony into trouble that she'd rather not have sent in his direction*
"We got into an argument, okay? A harmless argument and I blurted stuff out to shut him up."

*She was hiding something, that much he could tell. But what, he couldn't be sure. He sighed*
"All right. But please, try to keep control of yourself. You could end up telling the wrong person."

*Finally, she did meet his eyes*
"I promise. I'll be careful." She said sincerely.

"Danke. So, was there anything else?" *Treszka stood up* "No, but...stick around? I don't see you very often." *He slowly smiled* "All right. I don't mean to disappear like I do..." *He was caught off guard when she suddenly hugged him* "Don't? You're all I've got, now. I mean, it's not like I can visit Rudolf and all of them whenever I want..." *He hugged her back, kissing her forehead* "I'm sorry. I'll try not to do that anymore. "

*She grinned*
"Great! I've got lots to tell you about the wedding and stuff..."

**NEW NIGHT**
*Derek knocked at the door just after sunset the next night, dressed well if not formally, and holding a bunch of yellow Gerber daisies.*

Treszka had had a hard time trying not to explode from nervousness and excitement all day, and had changed outfits several times before finally settling on a pale blue sort of sundress. It wasn't dressy but not overly casual.
At the knock, she had to keep herself from running to the door. When she opened it and saw Derek and the flowers, she couldn't stop a little exclamation of "oh!" from escaping.
"Those are beautiful!"

*He smiled bashfully.*
"I didn't know what kind you liked so I figured... everyone likes daisies."

She smiled at him as she reached for them.
"It's perfect."

*He extended them.*
"It's funny; as a human I was allergic to pollen. Now I can be around flowers all I like."
