((Eek--sorry, guys. Damn school.))
Ethan remained silent during the course of this conversation, musing over the various ways in which he would inevitably ensnare the heart of this naive, unsuspecting girl.
Snapping to the present, he extended a hand to Will Shakespeare and by way of introduction, simply said, "Ethan."

((That's okay. Don't worry. I remember how busy my teachers kept me. Btw, I replied to your PM)) Isabelle smiled and looked over at Ethan. She had no idea what was on his mind. Since she had run away from England before John could fully claim her as his wife, she had no experience with men. By the thought of John, she shuddered. She hoped he wouldn't find her here and force her back to England with him. ((Background information: Isabelle d'Angoulême was a real historical person. She was married to King John of England when she was about 12. This happened on August 24, 1200. In my version, Isabella is now 18 years old, and ran away because John had noticed she grew up and wanted to fulfill the marriage by taking her to bed. Thus, she is still a virgin. The reason why she is in Paris in this time period, is because it was a time warp when the ship she escaped in from England sailed into a fog. Isabella herself is not aware of this timewarp, she just notice that in Paris things are different.))

((So not a problem.))
*Will leaned forward to shake the man's hand.*
"Nice to meet you."
*He inched back towards the door.*
"But I won't keep you. I should probably be going anyways."
You did look...cozy.

Ethan nodded.
"Pleasure to have made your acquaintance, sir."

Isabelle nodded friendly to Will, took Ethan's hand and guided him further into the castle. They came to a dark and narrow corridor, and the space was so limited that she had to press herself against him. She blushed and looked down, hoping he wouldn't get a bad impression of her.

Ethan didn't think twice of it and slightly pressed his own body against hers.
"Old castle?"

Isabelle blushed and trembled by the feel of Ethan's body against her own.
"Very old, I'm afraid. At least a couple of hundred years. They say this place is haunted."
As to confirm it, there was a sound of footsteps in the stairs above them, and the rustling sound of a chain being dragged across the floor. Isabelle gasped and pressed her body closer to Ethan's.

*Will blinked, still with the confusion of the encounter hanging about him. Then he sighed and moved to collect the book that he had come for and returned to his room.*

Ethan furtively glanced at Will's retreating figure before returning to the conversation at hand. He raised a brow at the sound and comfortingly tightened his hold about Isabelle's waist.
"Don't be frightened, my dear. I'll protect you," he whispered.

Isabelle snuggled closer to Ethan. If she hadn't been so afraid by the sound of the mysterious footsteps, she would have enjoyed this. Her fear made her wrap her arms around Ethan's waist, hiding her head against his chest.
"How can you protect me against a ghost?" she whispered back.
Suddenly Isabelle froze in fear. The footsteps had reached the top of the stairwell.

"By creating a ghost of my own," he replied.
By shaping his hands together in a bizarre formation, a luminous figure in ragged clothing presently materialized before them. Its face remained hooded, and it held an ominous-looking sickle in one hand. Without Ethan's encouragement, it hovered past them and up the stairs to confront the other spirit--that is, if it existed.

((Niiiiice The boy's intelligence will clearly impress Isabelle.)) Isabelle looked up at him. At first she didn't understand how he could create a ghost, then she watched when he shaped his hands together. She startled when the luminous figure in ragged clothing appeared before them, and the reaper frightened her. As soon as Ethan's ghost disappeared up the stairs, Isabelle hid in Ethan's arms again, seeking his protection. Her body trembled as she waited to hear the confrontation upstairs. She pressed her body against Ethan's, and her heart was beating in anxiety. ((I leave the confrontation to you You're good at this.))

((Aw, thanks! But you're great at this stuff, too. )) A grating shriek erupted on the floor above them and was immediately followed by a clash of metal on metal. There was the muffled shuffling of feet across the carpeting as a sharp whistle pierced the air. "The battle of the dead," Ethan murmured to the frightened Isabelle. And then, silence. "No need to worry."

((Awww thanks. It's great to have you back )) Isabelle was trembling in fear. She pressed her body close to Ethan, hiding her face against his chest. "Easy for you to say. You can just magic them away if they attack you. I am defenseless."

Ethan gazed at Isabelle with surprise etched into the contours of his face.
"Did I not tell you that I would protect you? There is no need to worry with me here."
