"How?" He was suddenly interested, not in her, but how in the blazes she learned magic without a wand. He had heard of it, but never met one.

How? She really didn't learn it in words or incantations--she just...did.
"It's inherent. I just call it up from within."
Please don't tell me I have to explain Vancian magic to a Harry Potter Wizard.

Of course Snape could do the same and many wizards he knew could also But only AFTER they learned with a wand. "Have you ever used a wand?"

Ohohoho. If she lied and said yes, he'd probably test her, and then she'd be caught out. But if she said no...what then?
"For teaching, yes."
Maybe not quite neutral ground, but it was a shot.

Snape didn't really have time to read her mind, and he had learned his lesson when it came to that. He of course still did it to his students because it wasn't as if they'd know. He could tell Sarah's hesitation though and still wasn't sure if she was telling the truth.
He didn't really care, he was just interested "Hrm."

"That won't be a problem, will it?"
A rainbow. With leprechauns.

"Of course not" Snape replied, his tone unchanging "just questions that's all" he turned heel and started toward his class.

"Oh, yes. Nothing wrong with that." She said reasonably, closing the door once he was gone. Maybe not rainbows, just leprechauns .
