Wild smiled and sat down next to him.
"Sure, we can eat. It really looks delicious."
She found a kiwi and started to peel it with a fruit knife. While she did this she looked up at him.
"So, do you want to take me to Ered Lúin? One day?"

"I, if we-" he sighed "maybe one day, if I'm around."
He replied quickly before stuffing a carrot in to his mouth.

*Wild smiled mildly and looked over at him with her dark, glittering beautiful eyes.*
"Good. I take that as a yes, then."
She finished peeling the kiwi and placed it on his plate, before looking up at him with glittering eyes.
"I was peeling it for you..."

"Oh" he looked down at the kiwi and smiled.

Wild smiled and looked back at him.
"Did you think I had forgotten it is your favorite fruit?"

"No, I did not" he smiled and began to eat it, leaving the table in an uncomfortable silence.
He would have to leave tomorrow and he would probably never see Wild again, he knew that he had said that he would see her. That he would write.
But if he knew himself, he would write for a while and become distracted, although he felt a connection to the girl unlike any other people he had met on the road. If he knew himself, he'd ruin it.

Wild smiled sadly and looked up at him again. She knew that he would leave the next morning, and that she probably would never see him again.
"I want to thank you for everything you and I have shared the short time we have known each other."
She said quietly, and more serious than she had ever been.
"I will cherish each of these memories in my heart as a treasure and keep them with me always. No matter where I go in the world or what I do, I will never forget you, Amras Séregon."

Amras smiled "And I you" he sighed and looked down at the food "Wild, I-I think I better go,"

Wild looked up at him, her eyes pleading him to stay.
"Now? But why? Did I say something wrong?"

"No, it is not you" he said softly standing up "I am afraid that if I stay any longer I will not be able to leave" he grabbed his pack and went to the door.
"I will write."

"Then I will not hold you here against your will."
Wild sighed, but it was his decision. She had to respect it, even if her heart was heavy by seeing him leave. She followed him to the door and gave him a big hug.
"Promise me you'll write."
She whispered with her face hidden against the corner of his neck. His shirt was getting wet from her tears.

Amras tried not to hold her, tried not to touch her.
He couldn't tell her what he was feeling, because he didn't understand it himself. His whole life he never quite understand women, he had only been comfortable with men, only really attracted to men. For ten years he had identified as gay, homosexual, with no attraction to women at all.
And here he was, developing feelings for a women.
He had to leave.
"I'm sorry Wild" he pulled out of her arms and ran out the door.

Wild watched him leave with sad eyes, not understanding why he ran away like that. She was standing alone in the doorway, looking after him as he ran, until the darkess of the night surrounded him.
She went back inside and closed the door behind her. She started tidying up after the meal, and cleaning the table.
She went into the bedroom and placed the glass rose he had given her in a vase on the nightstand. Then she changed into her nightgown and went quietly to bed. Slowly, almost without noticing, she drifted off to sleep, and was in her dreams by the warm, noble face of an elf named Amras Séregon.
