((Poor Izame. *hugs*))
*Julian's lashes fluttered at Erik's touch, his voice swelling in answer as his touch grew more eager, drawing Erik's shirt back over his shoulders, encouraged by new flesh to touch. He leaned gently against his mother, the need to be closer growing ever more within him as their voices filled the room, echoing invitingly.*

His burned skin no longer hurt to touch, not that Julian had ever pained him in his ministrations. It was mottled and ravaged, but healed as much as it was going to be. It seemed oddly sensitive, too, variably less and more than it was previously.
In any event, his song was tender as the shirt slipped off his arms and he turned to face Julian.

*Julian's eyes widened, drinking up the sight of Erik as he opened his arms to him. His fingers slipped tenderly over flesh, his lips lowering to it, but not touching. The song vibrated enticingly off Erik's skin, promising him everything. Anything that would please him.*

Erik wanted the song never to end. It was pure, transcendent, and glorious, and everything he'd wanted from a partner, a voice.
He had recently, however, fallen from the habit of sublimating his sexuality through his music, and his body was reacting in typical ways; ways that reaffirmed that he had not been damaged all over. His hands pressed to Julian's sides, his stomach, he felt the breath flow inside him, to be transmuted into song. And in his own voice, he tried to place all the faith he had in his son, all the perfection of himself he felt Julian represented.

*Julian's lashes grew heavy, lulled by Erik's touch. One hand slipped from his mother's skin, drifting to his own garments, trying to loosen the buttons of his shirt. It would have been faster should he use both, but he could not bring himself to be separated, even as their voices entwined.*

Erik came to his aid and slipped his own hands between them, dealing deftly with Julian's buttons and leaving Julian's hands free. He did not know where this might lead, but the song was building, its heady melody and counterpoint satisfying a craving he'd been nursing for decades.

*Erik's quick fingers gave leave to Julian's, which returned all the more eager to his mother's flesh. That was better. Uniting. His face urged even closer to Erik's, the song took an ethereal form for a moment as Julian brought his lips to Erik's tenderly. Their private music still echoed in the mind though, never breaking. It was provoking, both offering and claiming.*

Erik felt the music move inside, to join the constant stream that suffused his mind at all times, melding with him in a way he could not have imagined. Julian was in his head, the unheard melodies entwining so that it was impossible to determine who had produced each. Indeed, the song expanded now, unburdened by the limitations of lungs and throats, an unbroken stream fanning out to embrace them both.

*Erik seemingly untroubled by the transition, Julian's affections grew more insistent and inviting, the two of them so close in mind and body that the slightest of distances all the more apparent. His hands slide lower as his kiss deepened, loosening Erik's trousers. The song split with cords of extra counter-melodies welling between them though it was a chorus of two voices.*

Erik rose from the piano bench, to afford Julian better access. The music seemed to cradle them in their own little world, and he felt more alive, if somewhat disconnected from reality, than he had in months. Perhaps ever.
His own hands busy with Julians' clothing, he guided them to the divan in a sort of slow dance.

*This was perfect, the two of them in their private world, the one they created with their own hands and voices. Here they could do anything, the rest of the world be damned. It was enough. Julian followed where led, urging Erik gently down, his kisses wanton but tender.*

Erik's song wove itself around them, cradling them gently as they rediscovered each other in an entirely new setting. His injuries had not affected certain regions, for which he was suddenly quite grateful. Entwined in song, connected in mind, there was no struggle between them. Every move was as perfect as if choreographed. Even before joining, they were one.

***FADE IN***
*It had grown quiet, but not silent, the song still echoing faintly, fading softly in the afterglow. Julian found a strange peace in Erik's embrace and he planted soft kisses over his skin.*
"I have missed you." *He whispered, only then realizing the depth of the statement. Even before...it did not compare.*

"And I you," Erik confirmed, perhaps not even now realizing how much. He wanted to thank him for the gift that had just been given, but didn't have words for it. It was not something he could speak lightly about, if at all. Julian had given him music, in its purest form.

*Erik and Julian, however, really should have remembered that they were in the parlour. Which would explain the sequence of events that followed immediately on the heels of their afterglow...
Christian and Pina, having walked down to the cellars together when meeting each other in the opera house by accident, where in mid-conversation. Christian hadn't seen her in ages, and they'd been catching up along the way.*
"...and then Madeleine, still in her ball dress, jumped in after!"
And then he had the misfortune of actually glancing at where he was walking.
He stopped dead in his tracks*
