Hazel giggled too, and watched Marie carefully as she tied her shoelaces. She was a quick learner, and headstrong too, so it didn't take her long to learn what Marie told her. Afterwards she hugged Marie out of sheer joy of being at the shelter with her.

Hazel smiled and followed Marie without protesting.

******BEDTIME******
Hazel entered the room with her stuffed monkey Govna Boo in her arms. She went over to the bed that was hers for the time she was here, and placed Govna Boo in the bed, tucking the blankets over him.
Her heart felt sad. Even if she liked John and Marie, and wanted to stay with them, she had seen the poverty in this place. Poverty of money that was, because if wealth could be counted in love, John and Marie would be the richest persons in France.
She wiped a tear from her eyes and petted Govna Boo gently on the cheek, like Wild had done with her at the orphanage, when she felt sad and alone. She remembered the song Wild used to sing to her to brighten her up, and now she started singing that song to Govna Boo.
Be brave little one. Make a wish for each sad little tear. Hold your head up though no one is near Someone's waiting for you. Don't cry little one. There'll be a smile where a frown use to be You'll be part of the love that you see. Someone's waiting for you. Always keep a little prayer in your pocket and you're sure to see the light. Soon there'll be joy and happiness and your little world will be bright Have faith little one 'Til your hopes and your wishes come true. You must try to be brave little one. Someone's waiting to love you
((Here is the melody of the song as well.))

((I LOVE THAT SONG))
Marie stared over at her and smiled handing Hazel a nightgown "S'gonna be okay, okay?" She sat down next to Hazel and pulled her new friend in to a hug.
John stood outside the door and cried, he wanted to rush in and hold the poor girl, tell her just like Marie was doing that it was going to be okay, that he could give her a family, a good home and safety forever
But he didn't know if he could, he leaned against the wall and held his head in his hands and cried.

((SO DO I )) Hazel looked up at Marie and hugged her back. Her heart was still sad. She put on her nightgown, and was just about to go to bed, when she heard something on the outside of the door. She went out of the room. Her hazel eyes went wide when she found John leaned up against the wall, crying. Her eyes filled with tears and she ran over to him and wrapped her arms around his legs, hugging him tightly. "Don't cry, Papa! Please don't cry. Everything will be all right. I promise!" She tried to comfort him as much as she could.

John looked up at the little girl and tried to smile "I'm sorry Hazel, I didn't mean to bother you two" he ran a shaking hand through the little girls hair. Marie ran out and peered upon an unfamiliar sight, her proud, strong father, crying. She sat down next to him and wrapped her arms around Hazel and him.
"Marie-" he gulped "I wish your mother was here."
"So do I Papa, so do I."

Hazel wiped John's tears away with the sleeves of her clean nightgown at the same time as she hugged both him and Marie back. She listened to the conversation between John and Marie with sad eyes. She wished there was something she could do for these nice people.
"Why don't you speak to Wild about it?"
She asked innocently.
"On the orphanage there was a girl who lost both her parents in a boating accident. Wild couldn't bring them back, but she arranged a meeting so the girl got to say goodbye to her parents. And the girl was MUCH calmer afterwards."

John sighed and sniffled, holding the two girls to him. "Wild is much too busy to deal with such trivial things, we mustn't call her back so soon after she has left. Finding her home and her place is much more important than closing the hole in our hearts."
Marie nodded in agreement "Plus we'll see Mama again, when we get to heaven."

Hazel looked up at John and hugged him, trying to comfort as much as she could.
"Wild is never to busy to take care of her friends. She told me that. And she wouldn't have liked to leave her friends with holes in their hearts. I can write to her and ask her to come back."

"You don't know where she is Hazel" John replied "she will write us when she arrives in Lorien, please do not worry about it."
He looked down at the girl and tried to smile "You know, you have quite the singing voice."

Hazel smiled and huggled John.
"Good. As long as she promised to write, she will do that. I can't write anyways."
When John mentioned her singing voice she turned red and looked up at him.
"You think so? Thank you!"

Thanking god for the change of subject he stood up and escorted the girls in to their room "Yes, I do and I have a good friend who I believe will be able to refine it, if you'd like."
