Buffy nodded. That was cool. Stupid, but cool.
"So... are you a good witch, or a bad witch?" she said with a flip of her hair.

*She had to resist the urge to answer that she wasn't a witch at all, she was Dorothy from Kansas. Instead, she smiled (a bit sheepishly) at Buffy*
"Good witch. I only recently got into the big powers, so I'm still learning as I go."

Jay had been watching from the top of the stairs, both amazed and terrified. His shirt was slightly unbuttoned and un-tucked.
"Now that's something you don't see everyday."

*Spike bristled slightly at the newcomer, not because his masculinity was in anyway threatened, he was just still running on the edge a good fight gave him. Without explaining, he gave an acknowledging nod to the fellow.*

Buffy knew something about witches learning as they went, and it was kind of scary. But then... maybe this girl was totally cool. She could always take her down later if something happened. And...
Whoa. Hottie.
"Nothing to worry about," she said to the hot man cheerfully. "Just a... wild dog."
She winced at the lameness of her own excuse.

Jay stumbled down the stairs "Wild dog huh?" He looked at the destruction of the place and raised an eyebrow "I'll take your word for it."
He walked over to Sarah and placed a relaxed arm around her waist before extending his other hand to the other woman "Jay Gatsby."

*Spike suddenly had the urge to mimic the waist-wrapping gesture with Buffy, but thought better of it in time. A punch in the face would hardly increase his standing with the new rooster in the hen house. Still, he didn't quite like the way Buffy looked at him and his scowl read in his brow.*

A faint line appeared between Buffy's brows as she tried to place the name. And failed.
"Buffy Summers," she said, shaking his hand. After too long a pause, she said, "Oh. This is Spike."

Spike?
He hesitated for a moment before sending a courteous hand toward Spike "Well it's a pleasure to meet you, Buffy and Spike."
He had heard stranger names to say the least.

*Spike took his hand firmly, with a smile that could be interpreted as courteous. Or a 'hands off' warning.*
"It's a pleasure, I'm sure."

"Quite" he released the mans hand understanding quite well his meaning.
Man talk didn't need words.

Buffy turned to the witch girl. Obviously they were together, and it wasn't Buffy's style to horn in on that.
"So, um... maybe we should go somewhere an talk about how you know so much about... wild dogs."

*All during the introductions, Sarah had been trying very hard not to start giggling at Spike's reaction to Gatsby. Like the alpha male wolf running into another wolf in his 'territory'. When Buffy addressed her, she was back to seriousness*
"Yes...that would be good. It's...important stuff, the wild dogs."
*While Jay had been told, she had no idea who else could be listening. Best be safe*

Jay smiled at the three, his understanding of the situation was at a minimum and that was okay, he didn't mind not getting what was going on.
Plausible deniability he reminded himself.
He turned to Sarah with a smile "Umm, I think I should be going" he kissed her softly "I'd rather not intrude on your conversation, I don't know anything about wild dogs."
He pulled her in to a hug and pressed his lips to her ear and whispered quietly "Dinner this weekend, my house, I left a card on your side table" he pulled away and nodded to the others.

"Oh, okay," she said, kissing him back.
She lowered her voice for his ears only, though for all she knew Spike would still pick it up with his vampire hearing.
"Dinner it is, then."
