*Blanchette looked between the two, conscious that the girl was going to be moving in for a while, and meowed pitifully, begging to be picked up again.*

((Yeah... I'm just not sure what happened over there--I thought Snape had more to say or something, since Christine asked him a question.))

NEW DAY
*Christine shivered as she looked at the house. She had been there before, but it had always filled her with unease. Why had he brought her here, and where on Earth was Raoul?*

((He answered all her questions, just indirectly, sorry for going so fast with things, I'm just not one to string things out, I have to get used to that ))

*Erik returned from washing his hands--he knew how she hated it when he smelled of Death, and they had been hanging out rather a lot lately--and gazed for a moment upon Christine's perfect loveliness.*
"Christine," *he breathed gently.* "Christine... my angel."

"Erik...", *she whispered.* "Erik, you once promised to let me go."

*Erik knelt at her feet, nearly weeping.*
"I did, Christine, Erik did let you go, don't you remember? Oh, but I thought you'd come back; you said you would, to bury your poor, unhappy Erik. And instead he gets visits from your vicomte, doesn't he? Erik didn't mean to hurt him, just frighten him away. Have you no sympathy left for Erik?"

"Oh god no, I can't stand to see you cry!'
*Christine knelt beside him*
"I did come back, soon after my failed wedding. They told me you were still alive, and I thought it best not to torment you by me presence. Oh, of course I do care for you. But can't you see that you're hurting yourself?"

"Your presence could never pain Erik, Christine! How could you think to come back, and not see your poor Erik? You are avoiding him! If you cared, you would consent to see me sometimes."

"I do care about you! Oh Erik, you always make me feel so guilty..."
*She reached out her hand to him*
"I never wanted to cause you pain."

*Erik grasped her hand, holding it as if it was an anchor line and he a drowning cat.*
"But you needn't feel guilty, Christine! If you care about me, we could be happy, and there would be no pain! Erik will do anything for you. Anything."
*He realized he should have had Megan put on his disguise first. He hadn't expected Snape to be so prompt.*

AS CHRISTINE
"Erik", *she whispered*, "i do love you. But bnot the same way you love me, or I love Raoul. You once were like a father to me, and I still cherish that."

((Dude, I totally missed this. Sorry!))
*Erik stood roughly, turning his back on Christine.*
"Erik never wished to be your father," *he said.* "That was... a mistake."
*He turned back, like a hopeful dog who's been tossed out for the night.*
"Is that why you cannot see Erik as a lover?"

NEW DAY
Christine sat in a corner, looking at sheet music. Singing was all that was left to her, now. Someone had left this song out, and she began to sing:
I don't care much Go or stay I don't care very much Either way
Hearts grow hard On a windy street Lips grow cold With the rent to meet
So if you kiss me If we touch Warning's fair, I don't care very much
I don't care much Go or stay I don't care Very much Either way
Words sound false When your coat's too thin Feet don't waltz When the roof caves in
So if you kiss me If we touch Warning's fair I don't care Very much...
((What can I say? I like Cabaret...))
