((Dude! She's like me! *hugs*))
*Julian grinned.*
"Now give it to Erik. He needs to stir it. We'll go heat the oven like we should have done before we started."
*He lifted her into his arms.*

((Yeah, 'cause I totally don't do that every time chocolate chips are even in the house. )) *She grinned at Erik and nodded, holding out the bowl for him.* "Okay!"

"Hmm? Oh."
*Erik took the bowl and looked at it for a moment. He was making cookies. Underground. With a mysterious nonhuman child and a noseless one.
He started stirring, and when they turned to operate the oven he snuck a bit of dough.*

((I can not describe how much win that is. And how big my smile is.))
*Julian smiled at the simple pleasure that Erik took in the absurd scene as he led Pina to the amazingly anachronistic oven. He explained to her how to set it, hold her up so she could turn the knobs herself. When she was does he kissed her forehead.*
"Perfect. Now if your father is done, we can make some cookies."
*He glanced back to Erik, his eyes playfully suspicious.*

*Erik's eyes were wide in innocence.*
"Did Erik not stir correctly?"

*Julian's gaze lingered on Erik's for a moment before dropping to the bowl.*
"No, it looks perfect."
*He smiled at Pina.*
"Now we just need to spoon and ball them. If I spoon, do you think you can roll them into little cookie balls?"

*She nodded enthusiastically, standing up on the stool.*
"Let me try," *she said, rolling some of the dough into a ball and placing it onto the pan.* "Is this right?"

"That's just perfect."
*Julian smiled and scooped another spoonful for her to roll.*
"Put them in a line...there. Just give them space to grow. Like you."
*He gave her a peck on the forehead.*

*She giggled and nodded, placing the dough in lines and she was handed the scoops.*

*When the tray was full, he set the spoon in the bowl and turned to her.*
"You ready to lift? It's going to be heavy with so many cookies...I can do it if you want."

*She shook her head, determined to do it herself.*
"I can do it."
*She took the tray, and after almost dropping it, she got a good grip on it."

"All right then."
*Julian smiled and picked her back up, tray in hand, and carried her to the oven, opening it so she could slid them in. The he shut it and noted the time.*
"And now comes the very hardest part."

*She looked at him, a curious look on her face.*
"What's that?"

*Julian grinned mercilessly.*
"Waiting."
*He carried her back to her stool, setting her on it.*
"At least there's more dough to roll."

((Wow. There's some really weird incestuous parenting going on. Except I think Erik's the father and Julian's the mum.))
*Erik was content, mostly, to watch them. It was fascinating. The three of them had an odd sort of harmony, the kind you couldn't concoct but must be felt.*
This will work, *he thought, knowing Julian would hear him.* This... is nice.
