Erik was, coincidentally, returning from his errand to the managers and meeting Maleo Addams. He encountered Julian virtually on the threshold, Julian's face immediately informing Erik that all was not well.
"What is it?"

*Julian frowned.*
"Prosperpina...something is wrong. She doesn't want me to come into her room. I don't know what the issue is."

Erik removed his mask, his expression mirroring Julian's.
"What could be the trouble?" he demanded. He thought about it. "Was she embarrassed, seeing her father in a state of undress?"

*Julian shook his head.*
"I don't know. The only words she offered was her request that I leave her alone."

"Perhaps she is angry that we are spending so much time together," Erik said reasonably. "I will go and speak to her--you may come, if you wish."
Erik marched back to Pina's room, knocking softly.
"Proserpina, dear," he called sweetly. "What's the matter?"

*Julian followed Erik, but kept quiet in case Pina thought he was the problem.*

*And of course, here came her father, knocking on the door as if he didn't know what was wrong! She'd known that her family was... far from normal. The kind of far that was measured in light years, rather than miles, yes, but- she'd thought that maybe she could fool herself into believing that they could be.
Well, her father and brother having sex had ruined that for her forever.*
"Please don't pretend like you don't know," *she said in monotone.*

Erik blinked at the door, and tried to come up with the most logical thing he could think of.
"You are old enough to hear such things," Erik began, "as long as you never do them." He was no longer capable of blushing, but he would have. "Pina, when a man and... well, a man or a woman, love each other very much..."

"Please don't finish that sentence," *she interrupted quickly, in a shrill, panicked voice.*

"Erik knows it's hard to understand," he said with admirable patience. "But when you're older, Pina, you'll... er, never know. But other people! Do. Preferably in the privacy of their own bedrooms or possibly the bath, with working locks. But Erik is sometimes forgetful of these things, having lived alone for so long. You shouldn't have seen... what you saw. Not that you really saw anything...
"...did you?"

"Oh I saw quite enough thank you very much!"
*She shuddered. Images. In her brain. Wouldn't go away.
A terrible thought entered her mind.*
"You've been doing... that- with Julian the whole time I was gone?"

*Julian shook his head indignantly.*
"Not the whole time." *Julian muttered. Why was she acting like this? Did she not think that he was worthy of Erik's affections?*

"But- but you're related! Not even, like, cousin-related which is still weird but, you know, acceptable, but- you- ugh! Do you honestly not realize how wrong that is?"

"No, not the whole time," Erik agreed, wondering why it mattered. "Erik was quite ill for some time, as he was covered in burns from the fire. But before that, probably, yes. It doesn't mean Erik loves you less," he assured her. "But then again, I cannot hear your thoughts or feelings."
The feedback loop being a key factor in his and Julian's relationship.

*They didn't understand. They honestly didn't get why their ongoing incestuous relationship bothered her. He thought she was jealous?
Was she the crazy one, here? It seemed that living in the damn basement for too long would have that effect.
She couldn't stay here.*
