"Indeed. And we will visit you. When the time is right."
*His eyes were imploring.*
"Please understand, I do not wish to take any unnecessary risk."

*Leetah smiled warmly.*
"I can understand that, Icarus. And I do appreciate your concern. Both you and your children will be welcome to visit me when the time is right. If you need any help with the children, or just need someone to talk to, don't be afraid to summon me. I can read minds, as you know."

Of course you can.
*Icarus sighed inwardly, but was content enough. He had greater problems that he initially thought and was eager to address them.*
"If you'll excuse me...I have much to reflect on."

*Leetah smiled, understanding his need for privacy. She placed a friendly hand on his arm.*
"Of course. And if there is any way I can help, don't be afraid to tell me."
*She went out of the cave and disappeared into the deep forests.*

*Icarus sighed heavily, falling back against the cave wall. He was still in shock. How could she? After all that he had done for her? After all she knew he'd lost? And so soon? Had she just bumped into the new fellow at the market, looked him over and said 'hell, I know I've got a lot on my plate with my responsibilities to the Grail and by Hell-bent mother in town, but hey stud, want to settle down with a white picket fence?' Seriously. Who goes for something like that? He paced the cave, his anger swelling again, his wings rustling in the cramped space. Enough. Fine. If this was what she wanted. If this makes her happy. Who was he to complain? Oh right, he was a f**kin' demon. Making up his mind all too quickly, he set to casting a circle and began chanting lowly, the words of the spell echoing lowly though the cavern walls.*

*Eden blinked, coughed to expel the remnants of sulfur from her lungs. Waving her hands to dispel the rest of the smoke, she tried to make sense of her new surroundings. One second she’d been in Figwit’s treehouse, but now…she was definitely somewhere else. A cave… She lowered into a defensive stance, making her small frame even tinier. She didn’t know what was up, but she’d be ready.*

*Icarus clung back to the shadows, but was happy to see Eden again and safe.*
"Eden." *He spoke gently. Would she remember him, looking as he did now?*

"Daddy?"
*Eden's forehead crinkled in the confusion of the unexpected.*
"What are you doing here?"
*She looked around, taking in the cave walls.*
"Wherever here is?"

"Something terrible has happened."
*He stepped back as she started to advance on him in curiosity.*
"Something with your mother. And..."
*He frowned, his horns silhouetted as he turned his face away from her.*
"...me."

"Mother?" *Eden whispered softly, continuing forward.*
"Is this about Lilith?"
*She noticed something was definitely different about him.*
"Did she...do something to you?"

*Icarus shook his head sadly. How could he explain that it wasn't such a threat, but her very mother that had been responsible for...well...all of this?*
"No. When..." *He strained, but decided that honesty was the best policy. After all, they only had each other now.*
"...your mother backed me into siring another child, there were complications. They left me damaged, and I was reclaimed and reborn as...this."
*He stepped forward into the pale light of the small fire in the center of the cave.*

*Eden gasped, her eyes unblinking. But she was not afraid, more filled with wonder. She inched closer, lifting a tiny hand to touch his newly mangled form, fascinated by the new texture and shape.*
"Daddy..." *She whispered in awe.*
"You look...so neat!"
*She grinned up at him. Only then did his words catch up with her and her smile faded and her brow furrowed.*
"She made you what?"

"Have another child." *Icarus answered shamefully.*
"She said that the line had to be continued, the Grail had to have a guardian. That..."
*His eyes fell, realising how stupid it all seemed now.*

"I wasn't good enough." *Eden replied flatly. It made more since now, but still hurt.*
"But the other kid...like hurt you or something?"

*Icarus shrug, his wings shifting audibly. It was something like that, though he was relatively certain that it wasn't Gawain's fault directly.*
"I cast spells, incantations, to offer as much goodly energy as I could manage when producing the child."
Because I didn't want to do it again.
"It hurt me and...I upset the upper members of the darker order."
