*Julian saw the man safely downstairs and incarcerated for his stay. Hopefully it wouldn't take too long for him to sober. In the meantime, he sat and sketched in a book.*

When the little man woke--not quite sober, but not drunk enough to be happy about it--he staggered to his feet and touched his face gingerly.
"Damnit..." he looked around an supposed he must've gotten into a fight and been arrested or something.
"Hey! Hey--I'm sobered up, put me back to the streets, monseiur l'Inspector!"

"No." *Julian answered plainly, not looking up from his work.*
"You are not yet free of your intoxication."

He muttered and paced a bit, then returned to the door, or whatever.
"What's that matter? I'm sober enough to get my way home, monsieur--that's been enough before. Where am I? What Prefecture?"

"You are in a cell in the cellars of the Opera."
*Julian seemed rather blaise about the whole thing.*

"...The Paris Opera?"
He rubbed the back of his head, and then screwed up his face, quickly checking his pockets to see if he'd been paid. Damnit.
"And I'm here for what reason?"

*Julian shrugged, his eyes not leaving the page and his hand not slowing as he worked.*
"You didn't tell me. Something about a beast and a fairy. You were quite obtuse on the matter."

He grunted and put his back to the door.
"Then you're the one broke my nose, I imagine." he muttered
"The fairy is just...the drink. The Beast...is just that. Roams around the catacombes, but I doubt it could get in under the Opera, I don't know how I ended up down here."

"Then you are sober enough to speak on it? And other matters?"
*For the first time, Julian looked up and to the other man.*

"Sadly, yes. Let me out of here, it's freezing and damp."
His stomach growled as well, but he winced and ignored it.

"Well, I can't give you very much satisfaction if I've in here and you're out there. And really, you need to pay, I don't care how long you want to keep me in here. You can pay with alcohol and bread, I don't mind."
He snatched up the cloth and wrapped it around himself.

"Great."
He sighed a bit and took a moment to look around a little better, then called out
"How about a lamp! Or at least a candle! I can't see the pisspot in this gloom..."

*Julian returned with a plate of meat and vegetables, a good chunk of bread and some cheese. A glass of wine and a small candle were also slipped through the bars.*
"Acceptable?"
